21 Jump Street 2

Yea i remember The Simpsons use to regularly make fun of Fox.

So what happened to the supposed [BLACKOUT]Brad Pitt[/BLACKOUT] cameo?

I swear I think they just put a scene in from the first one in a tv as for the second just to see if anyone would notice.

I Loved this. I'm a big fan of Lord/Miller so I guess I was bound to. Yes it's similar to 21 but I like how they poked fun at it. Tatum and Hill's chemistry is amazing. I thought Hill was particularly funnier this time out. Loved all the subtle jokes that no else laughed at......Cate Blanchett? Ice Cube was a standout this time. Lord/Miller are 4 for 4.

A day later and I'm laughing thinking about some of the scenes in this film. It's definitely up there as one of my favorite sequels. Only downside I can think of is there is a character who says the same type of joke over and over.

Just got out, this is the movie to beat comedy wise. Channing Tatum has a very long successful career as a comedic actor, I pray he moves onto that one day. His timing I'd ****ing impeccable.

Went to one of my theaters early screenings. This one blew 21 away. Schmidt's girlfriend was the best part of the movie (not sure how to spoilers tag so I'll leave it at that) Channing Tatum is the man!

I thought Tatum already shown that he has comedic potential in the movie She's The Man. Hard to believe that Amanda Byne was the star in that movie and now look at them.

Flick was ****ing hilarious. I don't know how Lord and Miller are keeping up the consistency in quality but they are doing an amazing job. Aside from Cap and The Lego Movie this was my favorite time in a flick this year.

Got nothing wrong with it.

Really want these guys to direct a Deadpool flick. They get the humor, 4th wall breaking, insanity and violence. They would be perfect.

Oh and lest I forget, I need Amber Stevens in my life.

Loved it. Absolutely LOVED IT. The whole thing was just quality all around. And considering that it is essentially the same plot/case as the first movie, it still came off different and fresh.

Blows the first movie away easily. And I LOVE the first one.

Loved the Benny Hill joke during the car chase. Love Lord/Miller's sense of humor.

Anyone else enjoy Hill's slam poetry moment?

Too many things I enjoyed. Impossible to narrow down.

The whole 'Parents Day' sequence at the school and later scene back at Jump Street HQ had me and the audience Rollin...

Yeah, it really is tough to narrow down. Hilarious through out.

The parents day thing like you mentioned and Tatum's later reaction at the head quarters I think got the biggest reaction. Couldn't hear a thing cause of laughter.

Saw it. Surprised to say that this was even funnier than the first. I was dying. All the gags were great. And the Meta humor? Fantastic. It got to the point where it just felt like a parody of shows/movies being meta which was great. I havent seen something that meta (and good at it) since Scream. The action was cool too.

The credits gag was great too.

I wonder where they'll go for the third one. I thought that maybe going undercover as teachers and, even though it was a joke, the foreign exchange idea from the credits wasnt bad. I bet they can get a lot of mileage about making a trilogy/a sequel set on foreign soil

I am looking forward to seeing this this weekend as I sure could use a laugh after a week like this one. However, I am just shocked to see critics give this movie rave reviews considering the movie is exactly like the first movie in terms of story and jokes. The perfect example of this double standard is with The Hangover 2 and this movie. Hangover 2 was just Hangover 1 in a different location Thailand and got ripped apart for being the same as Hangover 1 by critics and fans. 22 Jump street gets a pass simply because its self aware and acknowledges that its the same as the previous movie?

The Hangover 2 did have the characters in the movie acknowledge that they were in the same situation as the previous movie but it still got trashed by critics. Now, I haven't seen 22 Jump Street and it does look hilarious just like the first, but I am just not a fan of critics giving this a pass for something they would knock other films for. I guess the humor must really be amped up gut busting funny for critics to look pass the same plot thing.

It is. Considering how well it did overseas before today that should give you some indication that it's not a fluke.

Have you actually thought about the fact that it could simply be because "22 Jump Street" is good, while "The Hangover Part II" wasn't? Because aside from being a rehash of the original, I thought that movie tried too hard to be shocking and subversive, turning out to be noisy and gratitious, lacking the heart that made the first one so special and the characters so likeable.

22 Jump Street was good. Hangover Part II wasnt. The jokes in 22 Jump Street, even the non meta ones, were just better. The characters in Jump Street were funnier.

I used to hate the second hangover. Ive seen it about 3 times now and I realize it's at least watchable unlike the third.

Glad to see all the rave reviews, I loved the first one so I'm def gonna hit this up this weekend. Maybe tonight if my schedule allows it.

Like I said I am a fan of the first 21 jump street movie ( I own it on Blu Ray) and from what I see and heard 22 Jump Street looks great. To be clear I am not some crazy hangover 2 fanboy, I wasn't crazy about it either but love the first movie. I just brought the comparisons between the two as an example. Not bashing 22 jump street at all since I am definitely looking forward to seeing it.

Hangover 2 had a much more mean spirited and cynical sense of humor compared to the original.

Unlike the first one in which we laughed at the Wolfpacks situations, in part 2 we're more grossed out and frankly feel kind of bad for them.

Phil gets shot, Teddy lost a finger and let's not even go on about Stus ordeal...

Hangover 2 was not a 'fun' movie unlike its predecessor. 22 Jump Street on the otherhand kept the tone and energy of the first film only they stepped it up to the next level.

Making a sequel darker isn't taking it to the next level. Especially a comedy.

I almost passed out from laughing when Ice Cube found out just who Jonah Hill fooled around with in college.

Oh my god, this movie was great.
