24: Legacy

Based on the trailer, I'll be checking it out since it doesn't look horrible, seems to have an original story, and has a more cinematic look than previous seasons.

I don't think a two and half minute trailer is enough to judge whether this is something that could've or should've been it's own thing. Aside from the real time format (at least 50% of what made 24 the show it is), you've got a buttload of the same folks behind the old series making this new one, right down to Sutherland himself. Just because Jack isn't there doesn't mean his presence won't be felt or that the events of the original series will have no impact on this one.

Random British rapper Bashy doing an American accent as the lead guys brother.

It looks ok but it could have been totally original, the 24 branding is a cheap attempt to get Bauer fans to watch, only without him it's pointless. The only thread I see is he's got Jack's bag.

Yeah the '24' name is just a way to sell the series, plus i assume they'll be using the same clock format. I'm wondering if that series structure is copy righted?

Is it just me or does this look a little like a remake of the first season particularly the getting targeted for revenge for a past mission bit.

I'm actually shocked they showed restraint enough to not even mention Jack. I actually respect the series for trying to be its on thing instead of riding Bauer's coattails.

Original as in separate from Jack's adventures, right? Because trying to stop a terrorist attack on American soil is basically the 24 mantra :woot:

Basically. This version seems a little more free to explore fresh perspectives since the Bauer storyline is bogged down by a lot of history and baggage that makes storylines play out all too familiarly.

Give it time. It's still early.

Kiefer Sutherland Could Return As Jack Bauer On Spinoff ’24: Legacy’ – ATX TV Festival

Sutherland “hasn’t ruled out” appearing on 24: Legacy, Gordon said during his master class at the ATX TV Festival underway in Austin. Gordon noted that “the character feels alive” whether that be in a future movie or the spinoff.

I’d heard Gordon and the team of 24: Legacy have an arc in mind for the second part of 24: Legacy‘s 12-episode first season that could involve Bauer if a deal comes together, but there are no talks going on at the moment with Sutherland for acting. He could do a couple of episodes as a guest star without creating a conflict with his leading-man duties on Designated Survivor. There also is a possibility for other 24 original cast members to reprise their roles in guest stints.

YES!... it'll be great seeing Tony again after so long...

A couple of weeks ago I was in Atlanta and walked by some area where they were shooting a scene. Didn't stay long enough to see who was there since I had other plans.

’24: Legacy’ Adds Moran Atias

Tyrant alumna Moran Atias has joined the cast of Fox’s 24 franchise reboot 24: Legacy. The limited series, starring Straight Outta Compton‘s Corey Hawkins, chronicles a race against the clock to stop a terrorist attack on U.S. soil. It will follow the original series’ real-time format. Atias will play the mysterious Sidra, Tony Almeida’s strong, attractive and intense associate who instigates feelings of distrust between Tony and former Head of CTU Rebecca Ingram, played by Miranda Otto. Atias was most recently seen as standout female lead Leila in Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff’s series Tyrant for FX. Moran also costarred in Third Person, directed by Paul Haggis, and in The Next Three Days opposite Russell Crowe and Liam Neeson.

Geez, I specifically avoid trailers to keep away from spoilers and they just go ahead and put his face right in the screen capture. Thanks Fox, you buttheads.
