24: Legacy

So what's the general consensus of this so far? I was going to watch the recorded episodes but I decided to just rewatch season 9 in my downtime instead.

Episode 3 was the best episode so far. I'm enjoying it alot.

I've watched 2 eps and I like it so far. It's actually refreshing seeing another lead in this. It still has the same '24' feel despite no Keifer. The only thing I'm a little put off by is the stereotypical 'hood/ghetto' subplot, just because we have a black lead.

Must admit that I am still on the fence with this new interpretation.
along with feeling some confusion as to why it is called "24 Legacy"
Why not just continue to call it "24"?

I'm sure we could all tell it's not the same cast!

ok here's what going down the show will bring back the actor that played tony Almeda cause it'll link to past case's both he and jack worked .

the last I saw the actor that played tony was on cbs's inspector's where he was the father of wheel chaired college student of the main cast of that show and his wife is the inspector. that character he was playing died so it was mostly flash scenes where that kid would help his inspector mother on case's . So the actor is free to do 24. since that has lessened on that show of the inspectors .

as to 24 if you really notice every season was linked in some way . all the stuff jack was fighting was linked to another case cause they didn't always catch every one involved epecially the behind the secene guys that back to events and even when they thought they did (catch the bad guys involved) it wasnt the case. Cause terrorist always have more then one project brewing and they aren't all working alone if they get caught they havea buddy or coworker working another angle.

so if this is called legacy it's for those reason's they are most likely still dealing with people on the villains side that helped do the bad stuff from when jack was around . and those people are still causing trouble they just were show prior to that face wise but are linked. Tony will make come back cause of this.

as to keifer he can't come back cause he has a show of his own on abc where he's the president of the United states . which both in the states and in canada his fan base are seeing. if most of Keifer fan base are seeing that show for him, he won't be back for a while . sorry.

He did say that 24 should go on with out jack long before this the same year tony went nuts and was taken away. and it's an ensemble series not one man show. despite how they like making it look like someone is the lead of the show.

The CTU analyst Gia is the cousin of Edgar Stiles. Who got name dropped in the first episode.

lol other poster's here and in other places already complained about that. it wasn't well received . someone closer to jack that is isn't friend of friend or relative etc would be better. and Tony's that since he be called in to help and pulled out of jail .

Gia's annoying as hell. Hope she dies.

Yeah the wife's story is horrible. No need for it at all.

It's like Kim's cougar story all over again.

Three episodes and it's...okay. I feel like 10 years ago this show would have been excellent, but the bar for quality TV has been raised so high since then that 24 Legacy is just coming off as slightly above average. Unless something really interesting happens in the next 2-3 episodes, I'm not sure I can sit through a full season.

Same reason they put rap music in the trailer(s). I've almost got like, secondhand embarrassment.

I am on the fence with this one too.
wondering If am going to watch tonight.

Does anyone know where I can get an HD copy of the two new CTU logos?? I really enjoy the show...

Kind of surprised that there is so little activity here.
I had doubts early on, but right now, I am really enjoying the show.

hey, I've been a die-hard fan of 24 since it premiered back in November of 2001, but I MUST say that I'm still enjoying this Legacy series with Eric Carter, even though it just doesn't have the same kind of high-tension intensity of Jack Bauer's episodes... and it WAS good to see Tony Almeida again tonight since his last appearance in 24: Solitary...

I have given up on Legacy. The TV station here in Perth started it out at 8:30 on Sunday night, then switched it to 9:30 when they stuck the new Bull in front of it, and now it is 10:30 with new eps of NCIS New Orleans slotted in before it.

Way too late for me!

If Jack Bauer was still in it I would have stuck around.

I've given up on it too. Not because of any scheduling shifts, just due to lack of interest. I watched the first 4-5 episodes and fully intended to continue for at least 1-2 to see if anything would grab me, then I just... didn't.

Main difference I'm getting with Legacy is that it's eschewed all the action and shoot-ups that were prevalent in the later Jack Bauer 24 seasons in favor of more personal levels of interactions and conflict. It's more reminiscent of the first couple seasons with Jack Bauer. I can see how that is turning some off because I think the action stuff is what brought and caught a lot of the fans later on.

The lead is being portryed more and more like a side character each week. :) Btw, is he dead on The Walking Dead?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I watched the original series beginning with the first season, and I probably enjoy more slow-burn style TV shows than I do action focused ones. Legacy's relative lack of action is definitely not one of the reasons I gave up on it.

Honestly, and I might have said this before, if 24 Legacy had come out ten years ago I'd probably be a huge fan. But with the standard for good TV being higher than ever now, it just doesn't come close to reaching that bar.

I really dig legacy and I don't think it's seen as good because we've seen this before. Not only has 24 did it but it's also been done in homeland.

These terrorists are stupid. Keeping Andy alive, I get. He's still valuable. But why keep Carter around? He serves no purpose but to put an end to their agenda. Should have blown his brain out after he delivered Andy at the junkyard.
