28 weeks later

the out break didnt go over seas though, as it couldnt. i reckon the kid passed it to his sister ( in a none dodgey way). specially because none of them knew that he carried the virus.

Just saw the movie today. I thought it was a decent movie overall, little on the long side. I think the first was a tad better, but this one wasn't too bad.
At first the over-the-shoulder camera angle was a little annoying, but after awhile, I kindof liked the view. Gave it a little grainy type look to the movie.
The plot was kindof weak, and kindof predictable. Was kindof of cool that the ppl u think were gonna be the heros end up dying(father, doyle, doctor chick). The best scene of the whole movie was the helicopter scene and all the 'infected' getting chewed up by it...

maybe. it must be somthing do to with that kid though. i really think the best explanation is the sister got it and attacked the pilot causing the helicopter to crash, the kid maybe escapes.. then the pilot and sister start killing people.

did the sister and the pilot know about the boy's condition? i know the sister saw her brother get bitten by their dad but did anyone else besides Rose Byrne and the sniper know that the kid had an immunity to the symptoms?

if not, then it's possible that they landed safely and the boy spread the virus to other people who met up with them.

Might wanna spoiler tag that :P

it's unclear....it could have been either one. I'm willing to go with second since he didn't seem to display symptoms of the infected, so I'm guessing it was accidental

Naw if people have come this far into the thread and havent seen the film they deserve it :p

Anyway. only reason i ask is
He looked evil as hell come the last shot of him, and i was thinking yeah he has his mums DNA in him, but he also has half of his dads and he isnt immune to the rage virus. so maybe it was just delayed in the kid

He was immune to the symptoms- but he still caught the virus, like his mom.

And nobody really knew the extent of his immunity- nobody was around when his mom infected his dad with a kiss too, so nobody knew that her immunity wasn't real immunity except the female doctor, and she died- I dont think the kids ever knew, so I think he spread it accidentally, thinking he was immune because it was never really explained to him, or the pilot, or anyone really in the rush to save him.

Plus, I think it was him who spread it, because they are flying at the end over dover- which goes to france, and then we see the empty copter in france. I think he and his sis and the pilot could still be alive, and he could still be a basis for a cure- but no one really understands (out of the group who survived) his immunity, and probably arent even aware of it.

Yeah i know that im saying cause he is half of his dad as well.

Your last bit is what i was thinking anyway (apart from the dude from lost, or he would have taken that picture)

I know what you mean- I kinda expected, when his sis reaches to stroke his head, him to turn around and have the red eyes :P

Those eyes freak me out :(

Hmm was the picture still in the copter? In that case maybe you are right- maybe the symptoms just came on with a delayed reaction- because the dad seemed way smarter (instinctually at least) than the other infected- maybe his dna combined with his wife's infected dna made kind of a new breed? Or at least with his family- which is why he might have been stalking the kid (to infect him and carry on the new breed) which is what I have been thinking about...maybe the kid had delayed reaction, attacked them in the plane, and they had to land....or maybe they just went to get help, the infecection happens and he cant go back to get the pic?

So many possibilities...I cant wait for the third movie :(

:wow: So many possibilities now!

One thing i dont get though in the first movie Selina utters the line something like "Last thing we heard before the radios went dead is that the infected were in france and traveling across europe" But i dont know if that would have been true seeing as the piolt that flew over them at the end was Dutch

You are seriously making this out to be WAY worse then it actually is. Having just gotten back from the movie, I can tell you that the camera only shakes violently when the angle is from inside a group of running infected.

Um...No, I'm not. In fact, I think the shakey camera work in the film has transcended opinion and risen to plain fact. It's too shakey. Period.

I too disagree....I barely noticed it. Once or twice, maybe, but the way some of you talk is like it's the whole movie...you must have seen a different movie.

I think what that was (IMO) was just a lot of misinformation and rumours they may have heard during the chaos of the outbreak, as I think chaos would have been running wild and outside communications shut down...

No it was shacking quite abit more than the first one, it was also shot on a diffrent type of camera (min dv still tho i think) but still felt diffrent, on another note i own the same type of camera 28days was shot on :D

One think i hated about 28weeks were those freaking strobes when they were all in that room, strobes give me a bad head :(

I didn't really notice it too much- I was so into the movie- but I think it worked for the style of movie the few times I did.

I want the third movie now! And a second comic book would be cool, the first one was amazing.

Well, whatever your opinion of it, at least get right what I originally said. I specifially stated it was not "the whole movie".

Damn this movie was one of the coolest ones I've seen recently. Soundtrack was great too, wonder if they put out a CD for it?

Anyone know the name of the lethal gas that the soldiers were spreading into the streets? Man that scene was awesome.

28 Weeks Later was very good for a horror sequel. Especially as it's both a British movie AND a zombie movie. What are the odds?

It's also the LOUDEST movie I can remember seeing at the cinema. It was rock concert loud.

I hated the kids in the movie they where annoying. It was kind of their faulty that everyone died. Seems like they little brat may of infected the rest of world as well now. I was wishing the pilot pushed him out the plane or something.

i felt really let down by the movie:csad:

the kids were annoying, the action sequences were choppy as hell and i couldn;t tell what was going on half the time during them, Robert Carlyle was WAY under used and to be honest it would have been bet, imo, if one of the kids had become the first to be infected.

also, whats with the yankies "shoot everything that moves" idea? i mean infected are wild killing machines, they don;t drive cars....

It was loud, but Fellowship of the Ring was the loudest movie I've ever seen. I remember the movie theater staff were handing out ear plugs for that one.

i wish to differ...Inspector Gadget was louder than Fellowship...the bit where evil gadget get the machine guns out and gets Gadget to dance that was damn loud...

man i wish they made a better sequal:csad:

If I were you, I don't know if I would admit to seeing Inspector Gadget in theaters...
