Don't go this far, these are man made products, and your opinions about them are simple opinions.Sadly, I was disappointed by American psycho. Bale's performance was incredible but it didn't capture my interest. I realize it's sacrilege for a cinephile to say such blasphemy, I really wanted to like it!
I know how you feel. I happen to hate the ending of Vertigo.Sadly, I was disappointed by American psycho. Bale's performance was incredible but it didn't capture my interest. I realize it's sacrilege for a cinephile to say such blasphemy, I really wanted to like it!
Hey guys, I have been thinking and I decided to ask you a personal question about something that I've been wondering about for a while: I have lost my musical creativity, and that was like half a year ago s o it has continued for quite a while now, what should I do about it? I used to know exactly what rhythms and tunes I wanted to play out of my guitar, but I for some reason lack the ability now. I don't get random flashes of musical inspiration either, I havent written anything
I realize that you don't really know me as a person and I don't know you, but I figured this was better than asking from total strangers
Have you tried experimenting in different genres and cultures? Sometimes listening to another culture's sound gives your whole outlook a complete 180. The Beatles went on spiritual retreats in India for inspiration, and it's reflected in their progression as a group (not saying you should go that far, just broadening horizons helps)
That thought has crossed my mind, though Im not sure where to begin and how. I guess I'll just google indian music or something
Well I actually went through something similar quite recently. I'm a drummer, and for some reason I lost my spark, and it was showing in my music. So I started studying prohibition era jazz, it was really eye opening, and wound up opening so many doors for me creatively. I've been writing and listening to more involved and complex music than I've ever thought I'd be in to.
I kinda have a situation where my ex band's drummer is so desperate to revive the band with me that he totally disregards my creative block and just tries to force things to work. It's not even about the music anymore, he just absolutely doesn't want a band with anyone else. After a lot of badgering me about continuing the band I recently kinda went along hoping it could reignite me creatively. But today I figured it just makes things worseSounds awesome manI kinda have a situation where my ex band's drummer is so desperate to revive the band with me that he totally disregards my creative block and just tries to force things to work. Wow awesome, it's like our paths of music kinda mirror each otherYea I know how that feels, I know from experience that trying to push a group together for the sake of having one just doesn't work. My old band just didn't gel with me, and so I wound up losing myself creatively and the band became a more of a job than anything else, and that's the last thing you want.
what genre do you btw? Mine is metal but I love all music and I'd love to compose a musicalWow awesome, it's like our paths of music kinda mirror each otherwhat genre do you btw? Mine is metal but I love all music and I'd love to compose a musical
I've been wanting to learn guitar for a while now
Nice! Do you have one?
(I actually gave up on guitar years back, my hands weren't made to shred. Drums are what spoke to me.)

I've been wanting to learn guitar for a while now
Playing the drums is a goal of mine after graduating.
Do it!
Very easy to get started, very difficult to master, but the adrenaline rush is totally worth it.

Was your instructor like J.K. Simmons from Whiplash?![]()

In regards to learning, the impression that I get from drums is that they're the one instrument where you either have it or you don't.
I think I do
I was trying to remember the name of the movie when I was reading their posts![]()
This is gonna sound weird, but some signs of a good drummer waiting to be born are restless mannerisms like shaking your leg, tapping on desks, jittery habits like that. It's that kind of subtle hyperactivity that's needed in a drummer.
