3 Musketeers cast

It does remind me of the new Sherlock Holmes movie in tone. It's a way to attract a broader audience. It could be a fun movie. Certain scenes seemed inspired by Assassin's Creed.

I'll admit, I enjoyed aspects of the trailer. Some parts were cool. It might be fun, that is if Anderson can improve, which is unlikely, so we could get the typical quality from him.

I wanna have faith in the guys work, but those awful Resident Evil films really don't give me that much faith that this will be good.

That's the thing. And there are mixes of bad and good in this trailer. Good meaning looking cool.

I'm worried that it's more inspired by generic action flicks then the new Sherlock Movie. While the New Sherlock movie certainly amped up the action for a Holmes' flick, it wasn't anything to ridiculous extend that this movie is showing. Sherlock and Watson weren't taking on twenty men by themselves at least.

To be fair, Holmes is a detective, not an elite soldier (though Watson is, or was a soldier). The Three Musketeers are going to get in some fights.

The funniest part is where Milla slips on something under her feet, and dodges the **** randomly flying at her. Her face is priceless.

I was pleasantly surprised by the trailer...I might be along for the ride and some parts looked pretty decent. This is definitely a bit of a different approach but I like what I saw so far. We'll see.

...And Milla looked sexy. :o
Looks like a fun, hyper-stylized take on the classic story, the bit at the beginning with the cloaked Musketeer coming out of the water was cool.
Agreed.

The Musketeers taking on an army of soldiers I can deal with.

The flying ship though is what irks me.

And what was with Snake Eyes from the Black Lagoon emerging out of the water at the beginning there? WTF?

Hmm. Yeah, well I was hoping it would be a little closer to the novel...at least what with the various interviews I had read. But I figured we'd be getting an overblown action movie. I don't mind adding a bit of flair, but come on, they're taking on forty guys? That's the kind of thing I hate about action movies like that. When you see four people taking on forty men easily, there's no sense of danger or suspense.

give me a break every superhero movie has that.....
even the dark knight... batman against 50 guys with machine guns, and not one fires a shot.

and i dont see why people are complaining that it is an overblown action movie take....

we've seen the boring "realistic" takes on the musketeers which all bombed (except for the leo dicap one thanks to his titanic fame), and if this one was the same then everyone would complain and say 'whats the point?' ..might as well let the guy go crazy with it lol

Batman never fought 50 guys....what?

He snuck around, and tripped people with rope.

Oh my lord. Looks horrendous.

Despite Mikkelsen.

Who really should choose his roles more carefully.

eh. It looks like it MIGHT be fun. I like the cast. Kinda reminded me of Sherlock Holmes trailer. Probably going to wait for DVD

Half of me thinks the same thing.

Looks like Anderson is going for a Steampunk Three Musketeers.

The other half of me is rolling my eyes at all the steampunk.

I'll keep my mind open, anyway. I thought Sherlock Holmes looked ridiculous from the trailer but then I loved it.

i think the movie looks bad and Percy Jackson looks like a 13 old girl.

but the poster is oldschool and badass. we need more posters who look like paintings.

This is going to be hilariously bad.

There is so much fail on that poster, lol. I didn't know that Bloom was playing Baron Munchausen.

Unfortunately, I don't think Anderson is a solid director... but this is solid material so it's hard to say.

Did anyone notice Mads (Rochefort) looks almost identical to Christopher Lee's version of the character?

I like what they were going for in the poster

But the execution. Dear mother of God the execution is horrible

The bad things:
1. The director
2. Looks too over the top for a Musketeers film.
3. Orlando Bloom
4. Milla Jovovich

The good things.
1. Mads Mikkelsen
2. Christoph Waltz
3. Ray Stevenson...yeah I know, not the best actor but he's grown on me.
4. Til Schweiger, same as Stevenson.

Basically, it's not enough to get me to see this in the theatre. I'll most likely check it out on Netflix, but I wish some of those actors didn't choose this movie.

I'm afraid the bad outweigh the good, Figs. The poster makes it looks like Van Helsing meets The Musketeers. :funny: I sure hope I'm wrong, though.

Exactly, hahaha! ****ing Paul W.S. Anderson!!!

What makes that poster so silly looking is how the characters are all different sizes. It wouldn't really noticable if Lerman was front and center and the rest of the Musketeers were in the background, but since they put a shrunken Evans in front of him, it looks really strange. Add to that the fact that the heads of the three villains are all different sizes and it looks even worse.

Also, just by looking at that, I can tell Mads Mikkelsen, one of the best actors in the film, is going to get the shaft for someone less talented (Bloom).
