Well, I haven't made a thread for ages. But here goes;
My cat, Gingerbelle was put down this morning due to a painful lump in her stomach. She had no previous history of illness and she was cared after well. My family picked her from a group of seven kittens, and throughout the years the entire family died off one by one.
She was the last cat from the bunch, and she was the happiest thing ever. She'd wait for you outside the house until you returned, only to run up, meowing like mental. Gingerbelle was the most talkative cat I had ever met, and we used to have conversations whenever we were around. She'd sit by me whenever I played on the Xbox, or even awkwardly sat on me just to throw me off by wanting the attention on her.
Gingerbelle was pretty funny at times too, and whenever she'd have the chance - she'd so climb into the washing machine, onto the fridge, or even atop a door ready to pounce. Her greatest moments were when she was able to catch some of prey, such as birds and mice. She even brought me a mouse a day or two before my birthday, I honestly saw it as a present
People adored her, and she was even a bit too welcoming. Purring and meowing at whoever walked by. She was a treat to watch on Christmas too, as she'd willingly unwrap people's presents. Favouritism was the best thing with her, because she'd never fail to come to me first. Here we are, about four or five years ago -
Unfortunately her illness cropped up around two weeks ago, and we endlessely took her back and forth to the vets. She disappeared last night around 7pm, only to be found around 11am the following day. I reckon she didn't want to be seen at all, but she voluntarily moved into the carrier to be taken to the vets. The decision was made to put her down, and she died purring. I will miss her deeply as she wasn't just my pet, she was my friend that cared all the time.
I just want to say that pets are amazing, and they never fail to make you laugh. If you're feeling down, they can bring you happiness. I doubt her place can ever be filled, as she was so unique...but, at least she had a good life, and we loved her all the way through. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't bring laughter. All I can say to other pet owners is this; treasure your every moment with your pet. Animals like this that love endlessly are your best friends.
