5.16 Hypnotic - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I'm sure Ausiello is embelishing the "sex slave" thing just a bit....

Bite your tongue. If I have to watch those two break up again, it damn well better be worth my while.

;)

Perhaps they'll tie him up again? [/wishful thinking]

New spoilers..

Ask Ausiello 2/8:

Question: Now, can I please have some scoop on Alias? Or Lost. Or Smallville? Please?

Ausiello: Here's some Smallville dirt: Episode 16 is sure to be slapped with a Beef Wellington warning when a mysterious woman shows up wearing a hypnotic crystal and turns Clark into her sex slave. Naturally, Lana walks in on them just as they're about to bump humps. She'll eventually forgive him — he was in a trance, after all — but it's still the end of the road for Supercouple. After seeing how much pain hiding his true identity always seems to cause her, Clark decides that the time has come to break things off. Guess whose shoulder she cries on? If you picked Lex, you're right!

YES, NO MORE (Clana romance), It's about time now we can get down to {the Important} task at hand - Clark Embracing & Actsepting his DESTINY , to become SUPERMAN :supes:

So.. does this mean that Clark and Lana are back together again prior to this?
Well, they haven't officially broken up yet. The closest they've come is Lana telling Clark that she needs a break. But that was before Jonathan died, so she's acting now much like she did when Whitney's father was sick - trying to comfort Clark. If she sees him getting all hot and horny with another woman however (I can't believe I just typed that LOL), that will likely drive the last nail through the Clark/Lana proverbial coffin. I'm guessing Hypnotic will be the definitive END.

Honestly, the things I put up with just to see Clark have "near-sex."
Pffft! Like you're unusual or something? LOL :p ;) :D

Doesn't get much better than that, does it Rumpuso? ;)

Bite your tongue, Red. :p

Done.

I never thought I would say this, but I'm getting tired of this Clark and Lana yoyo and the reasons why they keep bringing it to an end.

Get on with it already, please.

Sounds more like a combination of Desiree and Alicia.

But with Desiree, Clark was immune to her brand of phermone manipulation. Yet, in Jinx, Clark was affected by Mxy's hocus pocus. I have to wonder how Smallville decides when it's okay to infect the *alien* and when it's not, because I'm not really understanding the pattern here.

Desiree had Kryptonite pheremones powers . Mxy used Magic on Clark, Superman has a weakness to { Green Kryptonite} & [Magic]

Well now...this is unexpected. A little bit of Unsafe revisited?? So we have Brainiac returning and Clark having *almost* sex.

Okay. I'm good. :)

LOL!

:D

Yeah, human pheremones wouldn't necessarily work on a Kryptonian, I wouldn't think...

He did get hypnotized in Delete by those Emails whatshername was sending out, so I don't think it's necessarilly inconsistant.

He was also immune to Bob Rickman's handshake in Hug and overly affected by Kevin's memory wipe in Blank. Sara could only get into Clark's dreams in Slumber, yet Chloe's Kryptonite educed powers in Truth had no effect on him. Obviously, what effects Clark and to what degree is a matter of what's necessary for the plot. I've given up on trying to apply any logic to it anymore. It makes my head hurt. ;)

In the case of Hypnotic, I doubt I'll care *why* the antagonist can affect Clark. My concern will be that it lasts for at least the entire episode, if not longer. LOL :p

Anyone wanna take bets on who will complain first about the direction this convo is going?

:D

I have an idea of who will pipe in. :p

I don't know if as been discussed yet, but I thought I would bring it up how do you think Brainiac will come back?

I thought in one of those coming up on Smallville general teases, the ship popped back up in that warehouse... Maybe when the ship comes back he will too.

I guess he won't worry about teaching at Central Kansas anymore, however.

But to get there.. first he has to be a sex slave  :down

If Clark is aware of Brainiac's return, I bet he'll really miss his dad's sage advice then. :( Poor boy.

No, that's BULL**** , I think their's more to that story than meet's the eye .

I'm just glad CLANA over(the romantic part.) , I can deal with the friendship part, but not the romance part .

This is sort of a landmark episode for Smallville as well. This episode is #104 of the series which ties the George Reeves' Superman series as the longest running Superman live action TV series of all time.... After "Void" Welling will have played Clark Kent/Superman longer than anyone in history

I wonder if this sex godess is Kryptonian in nature and she's using Clark to recreate. Could be part of Brainiac's plans.

Do you mean "procreate"???

The pay was crap anyway, lol

I'm kinda rooting for the Lex/Lana/Clark triangle at this point. I love seeing Clark and Lex butt heads. Plus I'd rather see her involved with Lex than random boyfriend gueststar number three. I'm glad James Marsters is coming back. Him and Lex were great in that scene where they were playing pool and verbally dualing so sounds great to me =) Plus I would take him for Zod. That is a part that needs to not be overacted or arch. They might find someone great or they might not so why take the risk.
