Now this season With both Lois & Clark becoming more independant and getting closer towards their ultimalty destinies Chloe's purpose on the show is fading fast .

i'm totally with you. i just dont think shes going to fade out, i think when she leaves itll be big and dramatic

^ I think it'd be interesting if Chloe's death involved Lex or Luthorcorp somehow and that led Lois to becoming obsessed with Luthorcorp and its secrets as the series closes. Just a thought. *runs away*

The only reason Chloe isn't gone yet [Is because of her over demanding Fanbase most like [The Fans of Chloe=Lois] & [Chloe & Clark] .

Other than that Chloe would've been gone by now.

I like Allison and I throught she did a great job, being a pre-type prototype of Lois. But now she just beginining to serve no purpose.

Clark Doesn't need her to baby him anymore

And Lois doesn't need her to get her involed in journalism .

This appears to be critical just to be critical. It wouldn't matter where the guy was standing, he was still going to be stabbed. And there has to be a delay if your going to see the stabbing, and see where the blood goes.

How would he know he was gonna get stabbed anyway? If a piece of the roof falls right next to you, wouldn't you instinctively move as far away as possible from that spot?

Chloe/Ollie wouldnt make much sense especially with Jimmy on the show..

Speaking of which, has anyone seen Jimmy? Hello? Anybody?

Hey, not seeing C-block Olsen put a smile on my face.:woot:

this is what i dont get. i just said ia greed with you about chloes use on the show but that i think she would leave in big dramatic fashion. then you go and make another post re-stating the points from an earlier point that i said i agreed with you on?

Yeah, I was happy about that, as well. Would've taken me out of the episode a bit if it was otherwise.

Indeed!

I don't see how that line and knowing what Lionel has done could have taken you out of the scene. If anything, as a fan of the show, I'd find it simple irony.

Knowing how much blood is on Lionel's hands, I thought him saying a line like that was too much.

cmill216 said:
Is this a critque of the episode or just a silly fan nitpick? I'll put it in the latter box. :cwink:

Well it is a rant.:cwink:

Yeah I kinda felt the same way here. "Sheesh, Oliver was a *****e." :cmad:

They need to show what changed him.

Close your eyes and think: could you really see Clark not visiting her in the hospital AT ALL? He's not thinking about whether or not Lex will be there, he just wants to know for himself if she's okay. A typical Clark move that, of course, didn't end particularly well.

I actually could see him not visiting her but asking someone else to. The girl clearly hates him or doesn't like him much at all.

cmill216 said:
Well, Lana was in the hospital and Oliver asked him to help solve this thing. I think those are two solid enough reasons for Clark to care about what's happening with Lex.

A fair point, though I still think Clark could've got someone else to do it.

I felt like they should have been merely ticked off by his presence if anything; "a lucky little poor kid amongst us wealthy." *shrugs shoulders* It was odd to me, as well.

Indeed.

I just can't see Clark asking someone else to do things like that for him. For one, this IS Smallville, the story of Clark Kent. He's the star of the show, and him sending someone like Chloe around to do everything for him (like solving a murder Oliver asked him to help him with, and visiting the woman he once loved in the hospital) would be....well...awkward.

Yeah, but we know she doesnt end up with Jimmy Olsen, that's why I thought its possible that they may pair her off with Ollie at the end of the series to be his beau and Researcher for the JLA.

She's got to go somewhere and she's too much of a fan favourite to be killed off, regardless of mythology.

I've read a lot of Chloe fans asking about a spin-off for her and Ollie. I'm sure I'd watch. :)

Sage - I don't really understand the point you are making about Duncan attending Excelsior on scholarship. Does that not make sense to you?

And I'm surprised that you wouldn't understand why Clark would visit Lana in the hospital. I know that you don't like her, but we're talking about Clark here: the guy that loved her for a really long time.

I honestly have never envisioned Smallville ending with Chloe still alive. I really really would be happy if she lived, but I'm just not so sure it's gonna happen.

Lois's "now that's just ******ed" line/delivery had me actually laugh out loud..

Her state of "cluelessness" is a great "pun" at her "investigative nature" gene..

I think I'd be fine with either option. If they have her die trying to protect Clark, which seems like the most likely option they'd go with her, then I think that's a great death for her. But if they spin her off, or have her just take off to be some foreign correspondent or something similar.. Meh. I guess I'm just not as invested in her character as the others.

A few more thoughts I'm reposting from the Planet because I'm too lazy to retype. :)

Regarding the Ollie/Lex flashbacks: I thought they (actually, "he" since this ep was written by DeKnight) did an excellent job really contrasting the differences in the two boys - both privileged rich kids with the world at their feet - who opt to take very different paths. The death of Duncan was a catalyst for Ollie, remember.. he is the one that pulled Lex off when he was beating Duncan. Ollie and Lex were both deeply burdened with the guilt, but Ollie changed his life, "scrubbing his hands," whereas Lex is more than happy to do as Lionel suggested and just forget about the whole thing. Ollie being an arrogant little **** in prep school just doesn't seem like a big stretch - but most kids do change as they mature, and have more life experiences. Ollie changed for the better, and Lex is still the kind of guy that has no qualms about betraying his best friend.

Duncan is an interesting study too: the poor scholarship kid who has the same boyscout qualities that Lex finds so appealing in his other best friend later in life.

How deliciously evil is it that Lex is now demanding all the research that Lionel has been doing on Duncan, with no regard for his former best friend being treated like a living guinea pig for the last 10 years?

Yeah, agreed. And look how he betrayed that one too.

I'm really starting to hate Lex, but I think I'm supposed to.

Maybe Chloe will get some kind of powers and become a hero invented for Smallville.

Super powered Chloe = heaven

hmmm.....this girls seems to always have the answer, amzingly able o hack into any computer system, always seems to be one step ahead of clark? could this be: chlartian manhunterivan?

When was that?

I want a real Bizarro episode before the series ends.:csad:

SV Bizarro: A pale Tom Welling, or some other dude in Beetlejuice makeup?

No, it needs to be Tom playing him, just with a major makeup job.

"Me am Clark, me am be Super-hero!":word:

Seems like these episodes are getting better every week. Loved it.

The first Lex-centered episode that was a total borefest. Who the @$% cares about Lex Luthor when he was a kid? Lex was a real dick to Clark at the hospital. What is Lex scared of? I guess he still has no confidence in Lana's feelings for him. Pathetic. Zoners? Chloe is loosing her touch. Lois wasn't as annoying as she usually is. Next week looks good finally another Clark episode.
