Eh... no, I don't like these things being too formulaic. It's limiting.

Just woke up, first thing I said:

"When gotham is in ashes, then you'll have my permission to die"

then I shouted the chant as loud as possible whilst banging on something for the desired bass drum effect.

:awesome:

Best trailer ever.

Speak for yourself, I think the Inception hallway fight is better than anything in TF3, and this is coming from Michael Bay fan. His action scenes have kinda lost their touch thanks to CGI, I always thought this was his best one.

Cheesiness be damned, this always hit the right notes for me, and it's a shame transformers lacked any sort of emotional resonance in their action scenes.
I couldn't really tell what was going on in that scene either. :funny: But MICHAEL BIEHN! :csad:

Sounds cool...but would become awfully gimmicky after a while.
Very true. Nolan has avoided making it look like a gimmick because it feels new and not formulaic when it opens.

i just read the last page to see we've gone back to the Michael Bay vs. Nolan Debate.

Which is sad. To think we're in a great time for this film and all people can think about is being more right about something than someone else.

I can't wait to see this movie. All this synthetic controversy is lesser than the product Nolan is putting out there.

also TDKR is trending right now on Yahoo! :awesome:

No where near as epic as the trailer version, but we can't post that here. It'll have to do for now :woot:

Could be worse. I just went to the ASM forums and they're talking about TDKR there too!

I'm sorry guys. :csad:

ASM forums talking about TDKR more than the actual TDKR forums? Fancy that. We're that terrible.

DESHI DESHI BASARA BASARA!

DESHI DESHI BASARA BASARA!

The only funny part of that video is the text - ''Is the man leading the chant Bane?''

Not really. At least we're still talking about something tangentially related to TDKR. :funny:

That's because this stupid box office feud thing has them 'scared'.

It's quite obvious TDKR and ASM are on two different levels. I'm sure ASM might be good maybe even great but I'l not going to become delusional and think it will be as good as TDKR.

I understand people don't want to think their favorite series is inferior to another, it can be...offensive but, I mean...come on.

Not to mention Spider-Man has a faction of it's own fanbase apparently boycotting the film due to disliking the reboot idea. I'm looking forward to ASM, probably more than most other entries in the franchise, but I don't think the box office will be anywhere near something as anticipated as TDKR.

Well Marc Webb isn't Nolan, but I really want ASM to do well too because the cast (coughAndrew) looks awesome. :awesome:

It's just that Sony put the release date so close to TDKR, that it'll probably get steamrolled. :cmad: And IMO the reboot is too soon anyway.

Question. What does Bane say to the guy who asks if they've started the fire. I know he says the fire rises, but before that.

It's not about the box office to me. Because I can imagine a world where ASM does better than TDKR. He's a more accessible character, people are more likely to go see that than TDKR because it's easier to swallow, yada, yada, yada.

On a pure storytelling, cinematography level there's just no way it's going to compare. Say what you will about Nolan and his faults but the man knows what he's doing.

Does he have the greatest actions scenes...apparently No. But to see that Nolan's lack of skill in action equates to Bay's lack of skill in storytelling is pretty silly.

I don't remember the last time I watched a Nolan film and said: "ugh this chase is so bad...what's going on? I can't do this..."

I get there's a LoS...balance thing going here. "Nolanites" come out and praise Nolan to no end and some people feel the need to do justice by pointing out that he's not Jesus Christ...yeah ok, I get that but he's also not some mediocre, fly by night director.

This is a man who knows how to put a film together and whom to surround himself with to get the desired effect from his films. The praise is understandable and with this new trailer people should expect others to get excited by his product and his skill.

Is some of it hyperbole...sure but, what damage is that doing any one? One should expect a little less objectivity in favor of Batman here plus, these last two films have proven themselves, for the most part, as superior films and I think we're all very happy that TDKR is following that line of quality entertainment.

Nicely said and very honest.

"No! They expect one of us in the wreckage, brother!"

That dialogue is actually inaccurate. It's:

BANE: It would be extremely painful.
CIA GUY: You're a big guy!
BANE: -for you!

It's funny how people actually elaborate on the things being said.

I thought it was pretty obvious (ever since they released the audio of the chanting) that it was "This is Gotham, Gotham" (in the trailer it looked like it was a chant at the football game)

But its not. Bruce turns to that man and ask what they're saying and he says: "rise"

They are in a prison of some sort.

If you look at the trailer a man tells Bruce while he's in prison it means rise. To think that the people of Gotham would chant something in a foreign language seems pretty strange to me.
