My friend just earlier was telling me that he saw the trailer and he was underwhelmed. I had to tell him it was just a teaser and a better one is coming soon lol.

For those of you lucky enough to have watched the Prologue, is the funeral scene at the beginning clearly Dent's funeral, or is it just assumed that it's Dent's?

It's not a funeral, it's the memorial from TDK but with different dialogue.

Yeah, seemed like it was unused footage from TDK too. I think they started it off that way just to add more "wow" to the IMAX scene.

I actually felt it was new. I never liked Gordon's words at Dent's memorial in TDK, he seemed bored or disinterested. This seemed to have more emotion.

Gordon also looked a little different to me (I think) That'll be a fun mystery to figure out

While the opening is thematically relevant (Dent inspiring vs. Bane inspiring), I agree. I'm convinced that they opted for the 35mm version of the scene to deepen the impact of the IMAX footage (I mentioned this a few days ago). We know they filmed Gordon's speech in IMAX last time around based on the snippet in TDK's closing moments (unless of course this new bit was filmed this time around, but I think the scene and Oldman himself looked too similar - that said, these are professionals, and can probably replicate anything), so the choice to use the cropped version was purely for aesthetic purposes.

This Gordon scene was shot 35mm, where the one in TDK was shot in IMAX. So I'm going to say it's new footage.

Yeah I actually mean the memorial. Whoops! I was wondering if it was clearly Dent's memorial though (with his picture...etc.). The reason I ask is because I could see Nolan making us think that he is referencing Dent, but we find out in the end that he's actually talking about Bruce/Bats.

The trailer cannot come soon enough, im in withdrawl already from new bat-footage.

I think that the "I believed in Harvey Dent" line solidifies he's talking about Dent.

I've analyzed the hell out of it and it's a 100% the same building so I think they snuck back to Chicago or they somehow planned ahead in 2007...

Yeah I think it'll be one of the flashback scenes, along with that Police chase footage they did of Batman on the BatPod on the snow free streets.

People said they saw Bane apart of that scene and one of the Mercs from the Stock Exchange kidnapping appears in that scene, so I don't believe its a flashback

Or they greenscreened the building.

Couldn't have, that flag is blowing in the wind exactly like in TDK and not more than two feet to the left of Oldman...

The shot is more zoomed in than TDK, so if they did go back; it was only with Oldman/the flags/the podium/the photo of Dent. So, they wouldn't have to scrounge up identical or the same actors who were sitting in on the TDK ending of that scene.

Hey guys,
"I AM BANE AND I CAN KILL YOU!!!"
:pal:
Hahahahahahaha!!

Right. We didn't see the whole building, so they might have even just built a similar-looking one and shot it on set. :funny: And for the once the continuity worked. :funny:

Could it be before the ish hits the fan? Like Bane stalking and observing Batman in action? Like he does in Knightfall. I hope some of the mercs are named. Specifically Bird, Trogg and Zombie.

I Hope Bane is not implied to have been something during TDK...it would feel very forced
