I think SV has gone outside the lines a few times, but certainly not to the extent that X-Files (or even Buffy) did. Promise was extremely well constructed and executed with the different perspectives being offered. I think too many people couldn't see past the storyline to see the really excellent episode that it was on so many levels. Noir was another exercise in alternate story-telling that I thought they did a beautiful job in delivering. Again, I think too many SV fans have really narrow expectations for every episode and when the story deviates from that, they pan the episode, and overlook that in and of itself, it may have been a fantastic episode.
Agreed! Those are two excellent examples, and one's I overlooked. I'm stuck in S7.

Can we pleeeeeze have more of that? Pretty please? :csad:

Just watched the rerun tonight and paid specific attention to Clark and Jor-Els confrontation at the end.

Isn't it funny how Jor-EL is right basically 99% of the time? And yet Clark still refuses to listen to him? Lol.

I totally agree! Which is why I'm planning to send a bomb to the SV production offices in the event they retro THAT part of the mythos too. :cmad:

Which part? I wouldnt agree with Jor-el saying that Kara wasnt to be trusted, but Clark did need to watch her closely because of her inability to be discreet and her lack of Earthly knowledge and custums.

yeah that was the 1% but, other than that he's always been right yet, Clark doesnt listen.

Oh, I wouldnt agree with that either. Clark was right in Fierce and he was right in Lara and she didnt hang around to listen in Cure about what was going on.

True but at the same time, Jor-EL was just going by what he knew about Zor-EL thus made a judgement call about Kara.

And technically, he was right about Kara because she most likely would've done what Zor-EL told her to do (ie release the crystal/Zor-EL and Lara) had she not learned the truth in "Lara".

I enjoyed this Episode. I don't mind the introduction of Kara because I always thought of Smallville as a re imagining of the Superman world. Love the interaction between Kara and Clark.

The gun scene with Lex and Lana was some good stuff.

Kara was teaching her cousin Kal to fly ? Before, he did. Last year when Supergirl was ready to be the next hero soaring up into the skies, She was acting rebellious for awhile and then she was obsess with Lex Luther, just like Lana Lang did.

In this era Kara and Lex were similar to the Matrix Supergirl and Lex Luther II from "The Death and Return of Superman series" and that's the whole mythology George Perez mixed the whole Incarnations on Supergirl and Superman together.

* See in this picture the Lex Luther II who is attracted to Supergirl is similar to Lex's father Lionel Luther, isn't that a complete quincedence.

^^^ *coincidence*.
This "Lex" looks more like Wolverine than any Luthor I've seen. An Amish Wolverine.

Yeah! in the Death and Return of Superman series, The Matrix Supergirl took over and use Kara's Idenity when Crisis erased all of the issues and made Kal-El the Last son of Krypton and Superman needed someone there to help him. Because, The Secret Origins of his homeworld with the Kryptonian Race was out back in 1985.

See, Crisis on Infinite Earths mess our Supergirl character and we had a non-kryptonian Supergirl from her own world different than Superman's. She wasn't called the Cousin of Superman at all.

^^^which is where it all went downhill. DC wanted to simplify the DCU and in the end made it more complicated by their kara substitutes. Thank god Didio saw sense the nip it in the bud.
