8.06 - Prey - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

why does every noob come on here with that old silly falsehood about Tom not wanting to wear the suit? Who keeps perpetuating that?

Not to go off on a serious tangent about this - 'cause we do have the TW as Superman thread for all that - but it IS true that Welling does not want to wear the suit ON the show. He's explained why on numerous occasions. Problem comes when folks go and add 2 plus 2 and get five: he doesn't want to wear the suit at all, which means he's a bleep, which means he hates Superman, which means he's not interested in playing Supes in a film, etc. etc. And it's not just n00bs. Sometimes it's worse the longer people hang around, 'cause those folks keep hearing the same BS extrapolations over and over again and believe it to be true. Well, it's not. And with that, I return everybody to their normally skedded thread discussion.

Go!

This is from a few years ago:

On NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly:

Welling said he talked to Brett Ratner when Ratner was attached to direct. Ratner has subsequently left the project.

"I actually went to Brett's house in Los Angeles and we sat down and talked about it a little bit, both knowing that scheduling would always be an issue," Welling said.

"Basically, if that movie were to happen, the show would pretty much have to go away, and I don't think that's what anybody wants."

"As least they've come to you," Daly said.

"They have, they have. Maybe just as comparison, but they have," Welling said.

Love the new and improved Clark. :supes: Not liking the new and improved Chloe. :cmad: Is Lois gonna be back next week? :p

Can we get Phil Morris on the show permanently? Seriously! :applaud

As to next week's episode, heh. They know how to get people to tune in, don't they?
Just remember folks, not everything is as it seems. See the spoilers.
But day-um, next week looks all kinds of awesome. :wow:

Agreed I love the major improvement character development done for Clark Kent this season (i just hope Lana's return in the 5 episodes she in doesn't undo all the amazing progress Clark's made .)

At this point (whether it's Brainiac's Influence or not...) IMO the character of Chloe Sullivan is really starting to lose her usefulness especially with Lois really earning her place as the reporter she's destined to become @ the Daily Planet and Clark becoming more Independent and not relying on Chloe so much as his mentor / sidekick holding his hand every step of the way like before .

I missed Lois in this episode, Thank god she returns next week .

Damn Morris is the man ..... Detective John Jones Whoa....he was born to play this role .

Next week preview look outstanding OMG Clark in the red cape :wow: :super:

Lana is not going to undo anything, she's just in five episodes, Clark may have a moment of weakness (for drama purposes) and that's it, only flying and the suit are missing for the man of steel.

:super:

good episode tonight. next week's looks even better!

was i the only one mislead into thinking this episode was actually going to be a Clark vs. Doomsday fight? not impressed.

Perhaps? I was always under the assumption they'd save such a fight for the 8.10-"Bride" episode...

Did anyone else notice how MM told Clark that he either needs to wear a mask or do something else to cover his face? Well shouldn't this lead to Clark finally deciding to put on a pair of glasses? I mean he said he just has to do a better job at hiding his face, but that still doesn't explain how Lois and Jimmy will not recognize him when Superman finally enters the public spotlight.

Well tonights episode i thought was pretty good. Plot was very good, and writing and acting was pretty good. It is very nice to see clark more proactive and out there saving the day. I thought the scenes with him saving folks around metropolis was very cool. Chloe's mentoring group was nice to see, and i hope they continue showing this for a few episodes. The tease in the begining was pretty cool, and at the end when we found out it wasnt actually davis killing in this episode but this shadow freak what an interesting twist on things.

I liked how clark did all the investigeting through out the episode also. Also Phil morris was great as john jones. How sweet was it they actually made him a metroplois detective like his cover has been in the comics. I hope we hear more about him being a cop between episodes 7-11 since we know we are not seeing him again to episode 12. Jimmy i thought was pretty good character and i liked his scenes with clark, davis, and john. It was very cool for them starting the whole jimmy after the "good samaritan" guy so next week it isnt out of the blue.

Cant wait for next week looks pretty sweet, promo was so cool. Only complaint i really have for the promo is it looks like they decided to
cgi a cape onto ollie's cover hero look for clark. would have been nice if it wasnt cgi in.
Though i hope the episode is good too.

I can't remember what exactly MM said, but I didn't really like his answer when Clark asked him how he became detective so fast. Idk, maybe I missed something but I find it hard to believe that, even though it was pretty sweet to see him like that.

Yea, that's what I mean. Are those sources supposed to be an allusion to some other DC character that was able to hook him up with a high position job, or did he do something to someone in order to get that job. I don't know, it just seems like a cheap way to put him in that position.

Yea who knows what happened, maybe he did connect with other dc heroes before he lost his powers and they helped him out or something.

juts clear things up

real killer WAS davis bloome/doomsday not shadow kid

like in edn it was revealed that he juts a copy cat taking credits for murders commited by doomsday

specailly it was doomsday in Ace of clubs wreaking havock

Plastique, The Shadow Thief...something tells me we are going to have one awesome JL vs IJL episode toward the end of the season.

i get the feeling we will get ONE KICK ARSE Mellee between injustice lague and JL in season finale in addition clark vs doomsday and lex making appearance

now that will be something awesome or what

Yes davis is the real killer who has been killing people for awhile, the shadow guy just killed the girl at the start of the episode.

This was the first episode of SV I've watched in quite a while. I was SO waiting for some Doomsday. :cmad:

Good, good episode...

Regarding everyone was expecting doomsday... I mean, we are 6 episodes in, I don't think the writers want to reveal him just yet. Not at least till episode 10.

New Detective JJ will show up... come on, no powers got to do something!

Shadow Thief, was a nice little twist in the end, now we got 2 members of the LoD/iJL

Davis is a pretty good actor

i liked how jimy said that eye witness mentioned monster with bony eyebrows
