8.12 - Bulletproof - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Emil Hamilton and Dan Turpin...that is awesome. If they introduced Guardian, and have Oliver buy the defunct Cadmus Labs...and we could make for a great story during the second half of the season.

I just checked. I was thinking of Dr. Steven Hamilton. I guess they made that character up for the show or something?

I wonder if Hamilton will work for S.T.A.R labs? Smallville could fabricate a connection to Star City and Ollie for it

S.T.A.R. labs would be great, but I would love the Ollie/Tess relationship result in Oliver buying Cadmus Labs from LuthorCorp.

I would welcome either idea. :p

[blackout]Dan Turpin and Emil Hamilton! Cool.[/blackout]

awesome

Hopefully We'll see Turpin & Sawyer partnered up in the near future . like they are in the comics and they were in STAS .

and introducing Emil Hamilton is a prefect way to bring S.T.A.R. Labs into this series .

I mean... wow... this episode sounds better than the Legion one...

FANTASTIC!!!

LMAO
secret and lies returns

I have the feeling the second half of the season is going to be one of the best ever, specially if it ends with the series finale.

i hope MM getting shot inflluence Clark to step up more

i know he had been very superman like this season but he needs more factors to becomes legendary character

UPDATED 10/27/08:
Clark goes undercover as a cop after [Detective] John Jones is shot, hoping to find out what actually happened. His cop alias is "Joe Fordman," which could be a reference to Whitney Fordman from Season 1.

- The character of police inspector Dan Turpin - who first appeared in Jack Kirby's New Gods comic book series - makes his first Smallville appearance in this episode. Turpin has a 4-year-old son who is emulating the "Red-Blue Blur" that has enthralled Metropolis in recent months. Turpin's cop partner has recently been murdered.

- Oliver has resumed the role of Green Arrow by this point.

- Turpin witnesses Clark talking to the Green Arrow and realizes he is not who he says he is.

- Dr. Emil Hamilton - also a character from comics lore - assists Clark and Oliver to help John Jones and his unique physiology. Note that Dr. STEVEN Hamilton was the "Dr. Hamilton" seen in Smallville's early years. Keep in mind that the presence of Turpin or Dr. Hamilton could be subject to change.

- Cop sentiment over costumed heroes and vigilantes is rather low.

- Lana and Oliver are keeping a secret from Clark.

Hmm, that last part about Lana and Oliver has me really curious.

Question is...are they gonna connect Steven to Emil or are we to assume they just happen to be complete strangers that happen to have the same last name...and profession. :o

And as far as Turpin in concerned? I'm excited. His death was one of the BEST moments of STAS.

Supes reaction? Priceless.

Why would they have to connect the 2? Hamilton isn't exactly an uncommon name.

Exactly, there is no need to connect the two characters.

YEa no need to connection the characters, and steven been dead for a long while.

Maybe we need to connect OJ Simpson to Jessica Simpson?:wow:

:whatever:

I didn't just pull this out of my you know what...back in the earlier seasons, I remember there being rumors that he was related to Emil Hamilton.

The mere fact that he was a scientist, worked for Luthor and his last name was Hamilton...it was so obvious a little easter egg for fans to think he was related to Emil...the scientist Superman would one day become allies with.

In hindsight, i'm not saying they have to necessarily connect them...i'm just trying to say that the opportunity is there if necessary.

It was never mentioned that Steven Hamilton was related to Emil, so thats pure rumor and speculation. Now him being a scientist with the same last name as Emil might have been an easter egg but I don't think it's something that the writers have to bring up on the show.

Please, please, please don't
put those two into a romantic relationship together
!!!

That would be bad, but it's also typical of SV. I'm just hoping it's not something like
Lana getting involved with the JL, esp with Chloe not being a trustworthy watchtower with Brainiac controlling her.... or having Ollie pay Lana to run away from Clark in order to make him move forward with his destiny

^only because it hasn't happened yet and because SV has a history of mixing it up. I really don't see it as likely; I simply hope they don't go there.
