82nd Annual Academy Awards

She's got that rock hard body. When you get old and you still work out, that **** stays in place.

who cares if she's 58. she looks good. at least she's hotter than Cameron's current wife..

Hey, I am Just Happy enough with Avatar winning the Golden Globes and nominated for Best Picture...

It's an Oscar-Worthy movie too, just as Up is for the Animated movie, Inglorious Basterds is for the Nazi movie, or District 9 for a Smaller-Fantasy kind of Sci-Fi. Precious for a Black family struggle movie genre, Blind side for a family/sport movie.

You love what genre you like the most.

As I previously said, it's NOT about what wins, it's about what's nominated. Each individual can decide for themselves which genre were their favorites.

Thought I PREFER Big Fantasy world like Avatar, and I am sticking to it! :)

SuperJediHero,

why are so caught up with this? I like Avatar well enough but damn, let it go.

no its not :huh::dry:

I am just saying that Sci-Fi/Fantasy is Hands down my #1/Favorite/Best Genre, and I like to make sure a great/almost Masterpiece/Masterpice movie in this genre to WIN something...

At least it DID win Golden Globes!

Avatar is not even Cameron's best movie. Cameron's true masterpiece is either T1 or T2 (depending on how you define masterpiece). It is a groundbreaking film, and good for it that it won at the Globes. But, that doesn't make it the Best Picture of the year. Nor of Cameron's filmography. Nor of the genre.

You can think it is his best work, but don't make comments about those that disagree with you. You don't see me calling you a bad Sci-Fi fan for loving Avatar. I simply disagree with you on it being the Best Picture of 2009. Be respectful.

I've actually never seen or heard from anyone that thought Avatar should've won best picture, so SuperJediHero's comments are pretty shocking.

Even James Cameron himself knows he doesn't deserve a Best Picture or directing Oscar for the film. It was pretty obvious during the Golden Globes he knew it.

The black family struggle genre is pretty much my favorite.

Hey boys and girls....I have been asked to come in and review the postings in here....so you better be on your best behavior.

Yeah mine too, I would put it right up there with; pretentious over-the top yet stale Sci-fi genre and melodramatic Sandra Bullock one note performance genre.

I thought Mo'nique deserved to win and I liked Baldwin and Martian but as usual most of the show sucked and the winners were predictable.

I really like Sandra Bullock and her speech and I'm happy for her but she shouldn't have won.

I've met one person that thought hurt locker should win. every one else was routing for avatar

You should be, like if i say people ******ing Quentin Tarentino get nauseating, given how he has a PROVEN track record of directly lifting from foreign film makers and makes crap like Death Proof.

Maybe so. But Inglourious Basterds was still the best film of the year and far more original or at least more creative than the super-serious and self-congratulatory Avatar. But that's just my opinion. ;)

in the end, it depends who you hang out with.

with me, i've got friends who thought that Avatar should win, some were rooting for Hurt Locker, and some for Inglourious Basterds. I do have to admit that the people that were rooting for Avatar that I know tend to be more on the populous slate and haven't seen the other movies nominated...

I'm glad that The Hurt Locker won. Although, Avatar was a decent film with amazing visuals but that's all it had going for it. The story/writing was mediocre with so-so acting. District 9 was leagues better than it.

Also, IMHO, Hurt Locker, A Serious Man, Up, Up in the Air, District 9, Inglourious Basterds > Avatar.
