Life of Pi, I can feel it. t:

That's my hope, but I feel the movie is one of those that's "too good" to win an Oscar.

I don't think Life of Pi will win (although in my perfect world it should) but I think it's being severely underestimated. It's been nominated in all the precursors so far and that's even without a huge backer like Weinstein or a buzz-worthy performance (like Chastain's, Lewis', or Hathaway's) to fuel its momentum.

i understand this. but leo took a bi chance for being in a Tarantino movie. give him the oscar and by that tell him that he will get awards for acting outside the box and not following the old rules.

i understand that he was not the best. but other actors are not in so many oscar bait movies. Leo is talented. we lost a lot years.....a lot years where he was acting the same and chasing the oscar.

But the Oscars, ideally, don't hand out awards to those simply because they stepped out of their comfort zones. Were Leo to give unquestionably the best performance of the year, then would he be more of a surety of a win or even a nomination. But he didn't. Because there are many in the supporting category that have given superior performances.

I liked Leo but Seymour Hoffman was better, liked Bardem and Deniro more as well. Don't know if Deniro is getting an Oscar nom though, he seems to be on the bubble.

The BAFTA's smartly left Hooper off the best directing list.

As much as I enjoyed Leo in Django, IMO, Waltz and Jackson were better.

At least I enjoyed Leo in Blood Diamond. Hell, I enjoyed that film in general.

Jackman deserves Best Actor for Les Mis, but there's no way they'll give it to him over Day-Lewis.

WTF is Amour and Beasts of the southern wild? No love for Affleck as director is beyond ludacruis. Im shocked the Hobbit didnt get more love then it did. Outside of best actor and supporting actor the rest is rubbish as a whole.

I would like to see Lawerence get the best actress though.
