it simply boggles my mind how grown-ass people fall for this ****.

How about the development hell that Miller had to crawl through to get his movie made?

Besides, it's not like spending hours a day in the Australian Outback is a walk in the park.

Especially when the outback get flooded for the first time in 15 years a week before principle photography starts and you have to move the entire shoot to Africa because your dessert landscape is now lush with vegetation. lol

Glad for Miller and Scott. I really think Miller will win the DGA, Fury Road is such a unique directorial effort.

It comes down to a who suffered more for their art more contest.

But how else would he be able to tell the world about the brutal hellscape that he and his cast and crew managed to survive?

We'll see what happens at the DGA. A little convenient the Globes gave all the awards to the film releasing that weekend.

The nominations aren't even out yet and a lot of analysts are predicting that Spotlight will win Best Picture. I'd hate to see that happen. I'm sure it's a fine movie, but it would be such a boring choice in a year that gave us Mad Max: Fury Road, The Revenant, and The Martian.

I mean for ****'s sake. Give me $100,000 and I'll freeze my ass off in the Canadian wilderness for nine months.

Leo: "I could have gotten hypothermia!"

I'm sure your premium health insurance and army of personal assistants would have allowed that to happen. :o

Nominations about to be read out.

Mad Max and The Revenant scoring big so far.

Sounds like something Ben stiller would parody. He poked fun at actors and war movies in "tropic thunder"

They're always talking about how intense boot camp........for a week :whatever:

They better not screw up the In Memory segment.
Alan Rickman passing away.... :csad:

Star Wars with 4 nods so far.

If my calculations are correct Mad Max and The Revenant are tied for 10 nods each, including BP and Director.

who is Alejandro Jitutitu ?
haha she butchered that one :D

BEST PICTURE:
The Big Short,
Bridge of Spies,
Brooklyn,
Mad Max: Fury Road,
The Martian,
The Revenant,
Room,
Spotlight

I made the mistake of letting my hopes get up that they would, you know, actually use all 10 BP slots so Straight Outta Compton could get in. Oh well. At least it got a screenplay nod.

It'll be interesting to see what Chris Rock has to say about being the only black guy on the stage. :o

Tom Hardy's an Oscar nominee.

Looks like it's Inarritu vs Miller for BD.

Room doesn't deserve a best picture nom. It's rushed, badly edited and the second biggest Oscar bait movie of 2015. Inside Out should have been there.
