9.06 - Crossfire - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Face it Chloe is the Smallville universes Oracle. I'm ok with that though, as I'm appearantly one of the few enjoying this direction for her. At least it's in character as she's been a hacker/computer whiz since the show started.

As far as the episode it was really good. Enjoyed it from top to bottom, especially the silly story with Lois and Clark. It was silly but really enjoyable to watch, and I'm also liking Oliver's story direction now that he's out of his slump. In fact, at the end when Lois and Clark finally kissed, my wife squealed. She has been for three seasons waiting for the payoff of the three years worth of Lois/Clark buildup. Seeing it finally happened was like a big justification for her.

The action sequence was awesome too, especially when Clark caught that last bullet right in from of Oliver's face.

totally she has been the techy person for years even the early years. i am ok with it. sure at times it was a bit unbelievably what she could do and all that. But its a scifi show. So anything is possible.

I have no problem with her hacking skills. afterall, this is a show about an alien from another planet so chloe's hacking skills isn't the most far fetched thing on the show. I just don't like her being sneaky and underhanded. She does have a history of it though back in season 3.

Once again it's all within character. She's shown to be the type of person to make some shady deals if she feels it's for the greater good. A perfect example was harboring Doomsday last year, when she had some warped view that it was all for protecting Clark.

I'm not liking the direction they are taking Chloe in this season. She sets up elaborate and possibly deadly games to get Oliver out of his funk, hacks into government websites and then blackmails other people into working for her...where are they going with this? If this will lead to some sort of storyline where Clark smacks some sense into her then fine but if they just let her be, then I'll be annoyed.

Did you notice the look on Clark's face when Chloe told him that she would take care of the Kandorians? He wasnt impressed, so if she does foul up, I dont think he'll be quite so forgiving this time as he was with her during the Doomsday debacle.

Agreed! Man, it still bothers the hell out of me. These Lois and Clark interactions are so good, but they are missing that one simple thing to make them perfect.

I was thinking about the Chloe and Stuart techno battle and I was just wondering, what exactly did Chloe have that was incriminating enough on Stuart to get him on her side? I don't think he did anything wrong. She was the one hacking into Tess' computer system...

I think it's more that she was showing him she'd gotten through & knew who he was - that they were equals; that she was offering him a partnership. I hope - as someone suggested - they do end up being a couple. Then she can stop acting jealous about Clark & Lois.

I know Lois found out that the GA she kissed was fake but I don't remember her finding out it was Clark. So do you think they'll work it in where she puts it together that Clark and the fake GA are the same person?

Good point! It should have hit her right away, but it didn't. Maybe a nighttime kiss, outdoors, with her NOT standing on something would work better? That would be closer to the fake GA kiss.

I kept waiting for Lana to walk in right as Clark was about to kiss Lois. LOL

I am so glad she didn't! It's bad enough she messed up the one at the party.
