9.22 - Salvation SEASON FINALE Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I missed the episode (but catched the...y'know). Did Clark die, or was he dying?

Speaking of...you know what: is there a reference to the 2013 year? I ask that because the Nolan invovled Superman reboot, under the name of The Man of Steel, was announced for 2012. Any thoughts or ideas?

You know Rosenbaum is pissing me off. I mean seriously, the guy better find a week or even a few days...Put a skull cap on and come back before the show ends. It's not like this guy is on a big film or tv show that takes all his time. Heck, even Jeffrey Dean Morgan who has gotten some big name roles in the past year or so. Has said he would love to come back and do an appearance on Supernatural whenever they want him.

The guy dedicated seven years of head-shaving to this show, give him a break. JDM did like a grand total of ten episodes of Supernatural and hasn't even appeared on-screen for three seasons.

Rosenbaum has said in the past that he'd only appear in the SERIES FINALE

He said he wouldn't return at all.

He confirmed that recently on Twitter.

He isn't coming back. But they'll definitely tease Lex, like they did today.

Possible Season 10 Spoiler...

I thought I saw Lois wearing a wedding ring in the 2013 scene.

Meaning it's possible Lois and Clark may get married soon, likely next season if it's the last.

2013 is also when the Superman rights revert to Siegel/Shuster by the way.

Meaning it's the longest Smallville could possibly last on the air. I wonder if it's a sign that TPTB think they can drag SV out for more seasons beyond 10.

At least he'll be Superman by then lol

And I don't want them to drag on what is already a show that's dragging on too long.

10 better be the final season!

speaking of fathers, did they ever mention who really killed Jor-El? I seem to have forgotten if they touched on it this season.

2013 is when the rights go back, UNLESS, WB/DC makes a film. Hence the recent news of Nolan/Goyer, and the 2012 release date.

But why 2013 being used on the show itself? Is there some kind of reference?

Also, did anyone else think the same thing and suggest that the old woman with the dead Tess was Granny Goodness? Because if that's the case, I wonder if Grant Morrison's Seven Soliders will be, as I figured, serving as the basis for the Fourth World characters, Darkseid included. (I also wonder if they will use Final Crisis for the Season 10 plot).

Oh?

I'm reading video reviews right now. That's why.

I was actually flipping through some of the previous episodes on my DVR and i believe it was Alia who confessed to Zod that she killed Jor-El, and then he shot her. That was in Persuasion, I believe.

2013 would be a good time when the real Jimmy is old enough to intern at the DP. I also think Superman has been well established by that time. If Clark becomes Superman by 2011, he would have had 2 years of experience already by then.

thanks! I forgot about that bit in Persuassion.

So Clark would become Superman in 2011 before Jimmy interns at the planet?

If Season 10 is the last I think we'll jump ahead 2 years for the final shot.

If not, maybe the producers are hoping for 12 seasons ... I wouldn't be that surprised, but I think '2013' was their way of leaving the possibility of that goal open.

No way can they stall past season 10. Clark already has the suit! The show will be cancelled before they could finish if they try to go past 10 seasons.

Assuming that was THE suit, and not Clark's Red-Blue BLUR suit for next season.

Remember the producers said Clark may get a change in wardrobe, something with more colour, for the S9 finale... I think that's what we have here.

I have to agree. Having the suit already, but stalling for more seasons would result in very bad backlash.

as for rosenbaum sure he still saying he doesnt want to return. but if its confirmed to be last season they have all season long to try and work a deal out with him to at least do an episode or two during the end episodes.

also character screen times for the episode:
