Why are people mad at Oldman winning? It's a great performance and his recognition is loooooong overdue.
Because he's standing in Timothee Chalamet's way. That's pretty much it.Why are people mad at Oldman winning? It's a great performance and his recognition is loooooong overdue.

If the world were kind honestly, I would like to see Blade Runner 2049 get a BP nom like Mad Max: Fury Road did, but that won't happen. But, Roger Deakins MUST win!
For me the only two films that compete with the directing of Blade Runner 2049 are Dunkirk and The Shape of Water, so I have found Denis Vilaneuve's absence in this award season especially annoying. I don't care that he was nominated last year.
I'm seeing Call Me By Your Name this weekend so I'll finally get a chance to see what all the fuss is about.
I'm also planning on seeing Phantom Thread a second time. Focus Features should be ashamed of themselves for releasing this so late. It's borderline criminal how much this film is underperforming on the awards circuit. It's one of Paul Thomas Anderson's best. Simply sublime.

Having just seen Blade Runner 2049 yesterday i'm hoping nominations in the following categories :
production design
VFX
cinematography
score
And hopefully a WIN FOR DEAKINS DAMMIT !![]()
How Long is that Nomination announcement normally? 1h?
