Behind the screen categories are ALWAYS never given the same credit as the in front of (Actors and Actresses) as the Oscars are designed for the GA really who on the whole have no idea what roles mean or what it takes to get a film made, so this is just 'slap in the face' time so we can shoe horn the 'not as important' roles out and sell more s**t in the ad breaks, people won' notice. Yes they will. F**king annoys the s**t out of me, film making is like an iceberg, 10% seen above the water 90% not seen under it. The work that goes into making a film is largely not seen.
And the oscars already do a separate type ceremony the night before. Eh, I would send set design and makeup along side animated feature to that.

I'm not generally into that stuff either but I'm into this one, lol.
There was also that rumor about them wanting the Avengers cast to host the Oscars.Lettuce not act like that popular awards nonesense wasn't to help out the marvel mouse either. lol
I'm glad BP was nominated, but it kinda looks a bit odd now that disney owns the network. But I lost my tinfoil hat. I just like making fun of the mouse and their clean cut image that is bs behind the scenes. lol

I mean, I'm sure that wasn't just a rumor, but it's also normal corporate synergy BS. Any parent company whose network hosts these awards shows makes a point to get their stars presenting and the brand representing. That's been going on for years, and is supposed to be one of the built-in incentives to bid for those broadcast rights. There was also that rumor about them wanting the Avengers cast to host the Oscars.

Cutting from the broadcast the categories that don't feature your parent companies' movies takes things to a whole new, much dirtier level, though.
