92nd Annual Academy Awards

pretty dissapointed that Toy Story 4 got best animated picture. Klaus or I lost my body should‘ve won.
Even How to tame your dragon and Missing link were better than TS4

I'm curious to see how the blue checkmarks are going to wrestle writing about how the Academy are so backward whilst having just seen a Foreign film win best Picture from here on in. :funny:

I'm sure the red checkmarks will be more than happy to write oodles and oodles of click bait articles which others will be more than happy to spread all over the Internet (despite their supposed high minded approach to social media that's different from everybody else...) that detail that the wins by non-whites prove these awards are only rewarded due to politics etc. Given the themes and concepts of Parasite I'm sure they'll throw in something about socialism, give it a punchy essay title ("How Parasite's Win At This Year's Oscars Proves Everyone In Hollywood and therefor by insane application of the Transitive Property anyone you've ever met who've had Left Of Center Opinions Secretly Hates All Chinese, Koreans and Japanese people." ) and let the usual suspects among the useful idiots online do the work for them.

They already are, I woke up to see one which got thousands of RT's I thought it was a joke but he was being serious. Something about destruction of America because Bong said thank you its an honour after his win, then gave the rest of his speech in Korean. I watched Parasite last week and Bong did a Q&A after the movie, he clearly cannot speak English fluently yet as he was answering questions in Korean through a translator, it's not a sign of arrogance or disrespect like this idiot was claiming.

Anyway, good for Parasite even though personally I wanted to see Joker win best pic. I think Parasite is a little overrated like Get Out was but I'm glad 1917 or Marriage Story didn't win.

Im glad Pitt won but seriously leave the bolton political crap out, its annoying at this point for actors to preach political ideals.

Should have seen Parasite wins coming. After all, the movie is about a bunch of overlooked Koreans who come into wealthier people’s’ home and take them over by surprise.

I still haven't bought it on vudu because I just wasnt that invested in it like the previous 3. I watched klaus with my kid and it really blew me away

Has anyone watched both 1917 and Parasite ? How are they compare in terms of directing ?

Seriously Bong won Best Director is a bigger upset than Parasite won Best Picture
Parasite blows 1917 out of the water.

In a year where everyone's whining about diversity, it was great to see two Asian women up there accepting the Oscar for Best Picture.

I haven't really cared about the Oscars for a long time but I am still buzzing off that Bong hit.

Parasite was easily my favorite movie of last year (and I loved The Irishman) and one of my top ten movies of the past decade.

I've been a Bong fan since Memories of a Murder... this is surreal.

What a great moment for Korean cinema and international film in general. There are sooooo many great foreign films out there, more than half of my favorites are from other countries. I hope this helps get a lot of American youth who are into movies over that "one-inch wall" of subtitles, as Bong himself called it.

I loved both Parasite and 1917. My personal favorite movie from last year was JoJo Rabbit, but I knew that wasn't going to win Best Picture. I honestly would have been okay with either movie winning. They're very different movies. In the end, I'm glad Parasite is getting the recognition that it is. It more than deserves it. Fabulous film.

I do have to give a big shout-out to Taika for winning Adapted Screenplay. More than deserved. Jojo Rabbit is amazing and fabulously written.

Both extremes are bad, we can all agree on that.

How many Cinematographers have had back to back wins like Deakins did?

So a film about one of Superman's rogue gallery won best picture.

Fanboys are the ****in worst...
