Really am happy for Brendan Fraser. Talk about a comeback!
I was really happy to see him win over Austin Butler. Not that Butler didn't deserve it, he did a great job as Elvis, but I thought Fraser's performance in The Whale was really powerful and beyond that, much like Ke Huy Quan the man has been on a journey to get up on that stage.
:handshake: Hold My Hand, though.
I had "Lift Me Up" as my pick for Best Original Song but I had a feeling "Naatu Naatu" would win.

Thanks!
It was probably the easiest pickems I had in forever but then again I've been locked in on this race more than past years.
I wish I had watched All Quiet on the Western Front before the Oscars because that probably would have swayed my decisions a little better. If it weren't for EEAAO it probably would have cleaned up more. Definitely going to check it out now.

Honestly would have liked that song more had anyone else sung it instead.

I thought it had a shot because it's a tribute to Boseman as well as Rihanna's popularity but I guess people were too hypnotized by choreography of "Naatu Naatu".

Seems kind of weird that this **** keeps happening right. Like, how is this a yearly thing?

You used split-screen this year. How about you just do it… better?
It really is bizarre when there are significant omissions like this. They make it a point to show plenty of people who worked behind the scenes in the In Memoriam so you'd think they would double and triple check everything.

I always get a good laugh out of the occasional “[random female celebrity] is in her 40s?? But she still looks so good!” we see on the internet.

Like, you guys, have you seen some of these fifty-somethings?

Barbara Crampton is in her 60s and you would never have guessed it.

lol I was so drawn in by the tone of what he was saying that I didn’t even clock this. My mind just immediately reversed the order.

They didn't mention David Warner either, and he was in a LOT of movies, including Titanic.

I almost feel like it’d be smarter for them to cover their asses by just running names like a list of credits at the end of a movie.

You’re only going to cover so much ground trying to turn it into a music video.

And, I mean, if they’re missing out on this much on-camera talent, imagine how many below the line folks they’ve overlooked.

I’ve always hated them bringing in a live performer. I miss just getting a video montage with orchestral score, and occasional 5 second clip if it was an actor or actress.

You’d think they’d immediately add a name to their list as soon as news of the passing is made.

I caught it, and I could tell a lot of the audience did too, because there was a tiny awkward silence after he said it, when you know it was meant to be a big cheer moment. :hehe:

But oh well, I think we all know what he was trying to say, even if, coming from a producer, this feels like kind of a Freudian slip lol.
