This is from the film The Gravedancers:

I think this would be a great starting point for the look of The Joker in The Dark Knight. It's disturbing and skull-like.

What say you?

I think it would look cool for the people he kills or something along those lines, but not for the Joker himself.

Yeah, that could work.

That is neither cool nor a suitable look for the Joker.

Yeah...I don't think it'd work.

That smile looks exactly like the Joker's smile. I love it.

No fixed smile of any kind. I agree that it would be a great look for his victims though.

I agree, no fixed smiles...

...but it would be cool if he was able to smile a disturbingly large, toothy smile...

False teeth yes ^. Gruesome smile no. Besides B89 did the same thing. And it restricts the acting.

I agree. He can use some signature corrosive acid or something that melts away the flesh around the mouth leaving behind a "smile".

I love it!!! Wonderful idea. Good for something different than what's been proposed so far!

The Joker 'to me' should be more than just a white face and green hair...This is a good way to look outside of the box. I love it...is it right for Heath??...I dont think that's the point but he's right..this IS a good starting point....and hopefully we see some manips that incorporate things like this...more extreme...less extreme...just something more than a simple white face and green hair.

Good Call with this!

it almost looks exactly like his victims in the man who laughs
i love it for his victims, dont really agree for the man himself. He wouldnt be able to talk right.
way too restrictive

but for the victims, perfect. His victims should be grotesque and shocking, that covers both. Not to mention it will horrify viewers if done right

I hated when they just put jacks smile on all his victims in batman89
all of there nerves would not seperate in the exact same way.

this is spot on

As cool as it looks, the makeup would hinder the actor's ability to convey alot of emotion. We express quite a bit through our lips afterall. The eyebrows, however, would work. You don't need them to express emotion since the muscles are working beneath the skin, and with the right shading of makeup that could be seen just fine. Were this a more experimental Batman film, something more akin to The Man Who Laughs perhaps, I'd love to see this makeup for the Joker.

Damn, some of you sure are a whiney bunch of perfectionist uber-nerd fanboys.

Cripes, it was just a ****ing suggestion.

And while I agree that the Joker maybe shouldn't look like this all the time, I think the skin tone/smile and eyes are just right. The look should be disturbing.

Anyway, thanks to those of you who had some intelligent feedback.

Thing is Joker has to be able to announciate syllables, etc. . . . this effect would have the same effect on some of the practicality of the character as the 'neckbrace' cowl that Batman had to sport in all the past bat-flicks

The joker needs to have a wide range of expressiveness that can only come from the actors mouth or some sort of CGI enhancement. CGI, however, is a terrible idea and won't be used.

Agree with you and DV8. Also, the whole vanity thing comes to mind when viewing this.
