something weird just happened..i dont know if the thread got posted or not...i checked and i dont see it so im making it again. I just remembered that the joker in the beginning , before he was really ¨ the joker¨, was called by the name of red hood, so im wondering if we are going to see red hood in the movie, even in a small scene, or in a memory ..i dont know, maybe it would be cool to make him appear in a way. May be when the joker is robbing the bank using a clown mask, is like a ¨Nolan interpretation¨ of red hood. you guys think he should have appear at all in the movie?

it doesnt really have to be a the man who laughs red hood...it could be the older version first appearance of the Joker, the man who laughs is a retelling of the first appeareance of the joker, based on the killing joke, now we can consider the version where redhood meets up with bats and robbin(obviously not including robin), there he was already a criminal

I was never a fan of the Red Hood persona. It just seems silly to me. I mean, I guy with deathly white skin and green hair is silly, too, but you know what I mean.

But it's part of continuity so eh.

By the way what're the dots before "Red" in the title and in your post?

Red Hood was a different guy. Joker just donned the hood to hide who he was while working against another gangster.

Black and White volume 3 I believe.

And lets not forget Red Hood II

The "red hood" was worn by a series of hitmen according to continuity.

nedflanders: You better put that picture in a spoiler tag or get rid of it completely. That gives away the whole story.

If TKJ is in continuity (and I believe it's accepted as such, even though it was a one-shot comic) then the Red Hood was actually several different guys who all commit single crimes wearing the Red Hood mask and everyone thinks he's a supervillain.

well that is true...and one of those guys who commit crimes was the joker before he became the joker

I'd like to see Nolan's interpretation of Red Hood. The original story is actually really lame.

No, what I was saying is, the all things Joker thread as far as speculations, plot points and general appreciation is a thread called The Man Who Laughs. And that's the thread the "does this need it's own thread" police would say this belongs.

As as for the topic itself, I'm pretty sure the Joker in this film is just going to be the Joker. There will be no explanation of the character, his origin, his motives, and I hate to quote Jett here, but he "just IS." That's what I'm hoping

I like the idea of the Red Hood being in the movie, but I think it wouldn't be realistic; it just doesn't fit into Nolan's world. Maybe if Pre-Joker was apart of a gang called the "Red Hood" and some of the gang members gave him a glassgow treatment and threw him into the vat of chemicals; then Joker would pull a Claude Raines and plot his revenge by killing some of his old gang buddies like Five-Way-Revenge and in some way to work Harvey Dent into the story. Or something similar to that, I dunno; I'll think of something when the next couple of parts BatMan Confidential come out.

What's unrealistic about a robber that wears a giant tooth paste cap on his head and matching cape?

If that hood is on there I am going to be laughing forever

i'd be all for the red hood. and to not make all that fantastical, just have it be a red ski mask that he wears, it'd work just fine.

From what I have been seeing in the previews it doesn't seem like they are going to be going with the Red hood origin story.
