Fantasy A Harry Potter series for HBO?

forgot about the older brothers, so, ya makes sense that she'd be older by the time she had Ron

Is it just me or do these pictures give off an unsettling AI vibe?
It does kind of seem like the sort of thing where you enter a prompt into an image generator asking for a character from a film played by a different actor and it gives you a result that sort of feels like it drew on and is using elements from existing photographic reference but is using the appearance of someone else. It creates this weird uncanny effect where you recognize and associate all the other elements with the original actor that played them but it has the new actor’s face.

I think that’s where the disconnect and dissonance is coming from. It’s simultaneously a facsimile and distinct and trying to be both and it just looks and feels jarring and wrong.

It feels like this:

It’s very much the uncanny valley. Like they’re trying hard to invoke the style and aesthetic of the films buts it’s just wrong.
Along those lines, I'm now pretty much expecting Hogwarts to mostly resemble the films/theme parks. At least the exterior.

One of the exterior shots will have families in summer wear on the school grounds. :o

That was to be expected considering these kids are gonna be growing. The movies almost had a back-to-back kind of schedule too. I think the longest gap between them was two years between 5 and 6. The rest were all released at most a year and a half apart from each other.

Ahh, memories...

LMAO the comment under the Dursley pic.

So is this going to be set in 1991 like the book was? Nobody's walking around looking like that in 2025. :o
