I know its a little early to say but with what you have seen from the trailer and your general feel of the movie.

Do you think there is room for a First Class Trilogy?

ONLY if they don't reboot X1 and X2. If it leads INTO it then absolutely.

Get a new young Cyke, Jean and Storm maybe Angel too. Ignoring X3 of course.

I think it will tie in with Origins and lead to x1 at some point.

Like Havok having a younger brother who is Cyclops (I know its reverse in the comics) but having that connection would be cool. Maybe something happens to Havok,

What's mostly we can be sure is that First Class will have connections to X1 and X2, X3 I'm not sure and Origins we can rule out. But to answer the OP's question is yes, I think that Fox is planning for this to be a start of a new trilogy.

i think it would be good to see Charles and Erik's families in some more movies. bring in Cain Marko and quicksilver and scarlet witch

The only thing about it though is do we want to see another trilogy of xavier vs magneto? or will magneto take a back seat?

yeah, so far we have 4 x-movies and of all the villains, we only got magneto. now he is a cool villain, but i think they should use the others as well.
i hope that if they make the first class a trilogy they will wander off from previous x-movies. singer movies put too many restrictions on the x-universe. he made mutants too weak, especially magneto who can be beaten by anyone who can shoot since in the movies magneto doesn't have his shield.

There were other villains, William Stryker was the Big Bad in the second movie, not Magneto. Sabertooth, Mystique, Toad, Pyro and other evil mutants made appearances as well, sure they weren't the main villain, but they were present.

yeah, but sabretooth was so non present in the first movie.
also, i was talking more as main villain, but even then, as just regular mutant baddies we only had brotherhood.
where is sinister, apocalypse, omega red, sentinels, genosha

William Stryker was the main villain in the second movie and the Wolverine movie though and Sabertooth had a bigger role in the Wolverine movie. Really its because Stryker and even Magento are easier to do in live action then Sinister or Apocalypse.

every villain is doable in a movie. it all depends on the restrictions. like in the singer movies, a lot of people were saying that many characters wouldn't be believable. maybe, but that's also because singer put that realistic form of movie too much.
x-men movie is a comic book movie with things that will never happen in real life. and that's how you should portay it. don't create it too realistic because by doing so you put too many restrictions.
you can make a movie even with apocalypse. you just have to portay and sell the movie as an action fantasy.

I never liked Apocalypse's design it always looked goofy to me and he is not the best written character in the comics, he comes off better in cartoons and video games. His design pretty well sucks. Sinister's design would need changes too, that weird cape thing he wears would never work in live action.

Plus it doesn't change the fact they have used a non Magneto villain as the main villain in an X-Men movie, William Stryker.

I thought his design was cool in X-men Legends 2 It just screamed "don't F**ck with me!!!" and if we ever do get to see him on the big screen i would hope it would look like that!

I want is after 1st class, release Wolverine 2 then make an X-Men 4 movie, with Wolverine, Banshee, Havok, Storm, Iceman, Shadowcat, powerless Rogue, Colossus in it and introduce Psylocke as a leading X-Men member.

If we do get a new trilogy, I would like to see the anti-mutant histeria played out a bit more...in X1 it was slightly touched on, but when mutants become public in 'First Class' then we should see a lot anti-mutant groups/organizations arise, like Friends of Humanity, I think a good Project Wideawake/Sentinel storyline would work(look @ the success of Transformers) intro. either Gen. Lang or (the real)Bolivar Trask the Genosha arc and the start of Sen. Kelly,

From the mutant prospective, I think we should see Magneto building his Brotherhood, intro. new characters like Avalanche, and/or Toad, Sabretooth can be left out, since he has ties to Origins spin-off for now...

Mutants as side villains, I can see Sinister working, what plot IDK...Apocalypse could work, but he's mainly about the survival of the fittest and I could see him doing something like Magneto did in X1...

But I would like to Emma Frost come back as a redeeming character, either working w/Charles or starting her own school...

X4 would cost way too much money at this point. If this film is a success, then this will get a sequel and probably a trilogy.

sounds good to me. first class has a big potential and can open door to these new story lines and villains. and this mutant histeria needs to be played out more. so far what we have seen in previous movies was only a small demonstration. we need more than that. we could see helpless mutants being beaten on street where bystanders would actually approve such a beating. mutant houses being burnt down.
this could lead to some mutants going underground (morlocks)
Sinister can be introduced with the mutant massacre storyline.
then at cretain point it would be cool to have an age of apocalypse as a stand alone trilogy.

Off of the visuals alone, I'd love to see another X-Men film like this. The look of First Class is leaps-and-bounds above Singer's films.

I dunno I thought X2 had some great visuals. I think it's on par with X2 and lightyears ahead of X3 and Origins.

This movie is not going to end with Eric and Charles at odds with each other, is it?

I always assumed this would be at least two, but probably three films. They are pals in the first, a rift develops in the second, and they go their separate ways in the third. I assume we will get to see Scott in the third, but he will not be a part of the team, as all these will most likely take place before the events we saw at the end of the Wolverine movie.

x-2 had some nice visuals, but the movie overall was way to slow. actually, nightcrawler was kinda the best there was. other than that, visually there was not that much. and most of it is also due to fact that singer has towned down mutant powers too much.
first class however feels much more like a real comic book movie with better display of mutant powers.

I thought the plastic prison looked real cool and Magneto's escape through the blood. And Pyro vs the cops, Storm's tornados, Jean's Phoenix effect, Jason and his illusions, the larger sets and more open world feel such as the dam. Of course Nightcrawler too. What looks so much more comic booky in this new one?

Angel and Banshee flying, Magneto elevating the ship, Beast transformation...

I know, some things like these were seen in the first trilogy, but this movie seems to explote these elements much more.

I think with Fox shelving The Wolverine... Im thinking that this idea of trilogy is much more realistic right now. They must of watched the final cut of this movie and thought it good.
