So, this thread is really about those final scenes that take place in 2023 (SPOILERS BELOW, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED)

....How did you feel when Wolverine woke up in the future and found that all of the original trilogy cast is back?

Honestly, it felt the most "X-Men" to me since X2. In that classic sense of seeing Wolverine trade barbs with Cyclops, Jean Grey being there, and even Kelsey Grammer's Beast making a cameo. If we want to talk about amazing nostalgia, this scene was laden with it.

Do you view it as a send-off for these characters or an open-ending for a return to them in their classic default status? After how much X3 ruined these characters for me, it was actually an emotionally cathartic moment. Things are back to the way they were always supposed to be.

To me, without question, that was a send off to that cast. Yes, they have the ability to make sequels with the original cast again but because that ending is so note perfect to what we as fans of this franchise have had to endure, I'd rather they didn't.

It's perfect as is.

If you're going to continue on with X-Men, because of the new timeline situation, just stay in the past and make films that way.

Just as long as those films line up with the new future we witnessed at the end of this film.

This felt like a send off to me. The entire film I feel wrapped up the OT cast really well, and the fact this scene takes place in 2023 and presents us with everyone we have come to know and love in the distant future in a better world together fits the theme of the X-Men universe. This scene is like a love letter to the series, and I know I felt a great wave of nostalgia as Logan walked through those halls in this new future. Honestly, I would like this to be the ending of THOSE X-Men, and to see new stories told with the FC cast, or in other corners of the X-world we haven't seen.

I love that. I am someone who didn't like first class but loved the first triology so seeing old cast members in the school made me so happy as a fan.

oh and ia with others. it was a send off and a nice one imo

Right with you. Completely agree. When you create an ending that's that note perfect, don't mess with it.

For me, that ending hit me just as hard as the ending of Bruce's story of the DARK KNIGHT RISES. They both accomplish the same thing.

Leave it be.

I agree with you guys. It was definitely a feels moment seeing Logan roaming around the school halls, seeing the students, and the characters. It definitely felt like one of those "passing the torch" moments. It was cool see Kelsey Grammer come back as old Beast, but it would have been nice to see Ben Foster return as Archangel, Aaron Stanford as Pyro, etc (hopeful fan wishing, lol).

Ah I liked it, but I ain't gonna lie I would like one more film with the OT. I wish Apocalypse was their sequel and not First Class'. At the least lets unleash the Dark Phoenix again and burn some **** up.

I adored it.

It was exaclty what i wanted. however it'll be a disappointement if we don't see the future cast again. it felt like an ending ye but it also felt like a redemption and teaser that we"ll see them again

Not going to lie, it would be kind of funny if they decided to redo the Phoenix story with the OT cast as a giant middle finger to X3 :oldrazz:

Rothman and Ratner are likely out somewhere plotting vengeance.

The ending was awesome, but bittersweet if it's the last time we see that cast (Wolverine excluded). I really hope they somehow include them in the future because a new film series without the main X-Men is really... blah.

Well, if we do get another movie with the OT cast, it won't be for a while since we have AoA, Wolverine 3, and X-Force coming up unless they change the movie schedule and delay one of the movies.

I hope it wasn't a send off. They should appear in the next movie. It has fu**ing APOCALYPSE!

I think is was closure but it's left open for anything. They have to go forward with the younger ast There's at least 16 years in this group. I can't wait to see xavier go bald and cut lose and magneto and mystique get back to gether.

It didn't feel like a sendoff to me at all. It seemed they could go in plenty of directions with either cast.

I think if we don't get the OT cast again it's going to suck for me. Older Beast is much better than young Beast and we haven't even seen characters like Nightcrawler or Angel return. I feel like it's an overall waste of time to get these younger versions of characters that aren't the full-fledged characters we know and love. To have to wait for them to grow into those characters(after we've gotten great versions of those same characters in the OT) is too much of a chore. Like Beast. You're telling me I have to endure young Beast for yet another movie? So I get 3 movies of him and only 1 real movie with adult Beast? That's bulls**t.

"Oh, Beast sucked in First Class, but he'll be better in DOFP because he'll be the Beast I know and love."

*DOFP rolls around*

"...You mean Beast is still the same timid, growly voice-having kid who's appearance is altered with serum that he was in FC? The only thing that's really changed is his agility and look? OH, guess he'll grow more into the Beast I know and love in Apocalypse. Right? Right?"

I have a sneaking feeling he will be "adult Beast" in the next movie. If Apocalypse takes places in the '80s, then it is 20 years since teenager Beast in XFC. That means the character will be in his 30s. Like recasting Cyclops and Jean as younger for the '80s, maybe as teenage heroes, they can do that and basically "soft-reboot" the franchise.

Also notice that there is no mention of Magneto or Mystique in this beautiful semi-send-off. That means that with the continuity rewritten, they can do whatever they want with those characters.

It felt like it could've been the sendoff, and I hope it is.

I hope so, although, it seems like Apocalypse will take place around 10 years after DOFP since it happens in the 80's and DOFP in the 70's. And thinking about that, I think we got around a 10 year gap from FC to DOFP and Beast was still basically the same. So I really hope to see adult Beast next time.

Everything about this film and the set up for the "Brave New World" for the FC crew screamed send off for the original cast for me. They opened up the FC crew too endless possibilities, especially with Wolverine telling Charles to bring the X-Men together. I think we will be getting young Jean, Scott and Storm next time around. That is where they are headed imo.
