Personally, I think Josh Duhamel was one of the best actors in the film...of course that isn't saying much. I'm not one of the Shia haters but that just seems weird. To each his own.

I've actually gotten pretty annoyed at the anti-Shia bandwagon that's sprung up in the past couple years. The guy's not great, but he's not horrible either, and half the time I think it's people just being "cool intellectual posterz."

I agree.

Like I said, he's not great but I don't hate him at all. Personally, sometimes I wonder if it's fanboy jealousy that he's a fairly big star. A lot of that has to do with him having a pretty good and energetic personality.

Agreed. Shia is 10 times more enjoyable than most of the people in those Transformers films. Well, not the second one... everyone was awful in that, but there's very little you can do with a script that bad.

But yeah, Shia had a lot more presence in those films than a guy like Duhamel, who could be named the King of Blandland.

Only actor/actress that comes to mind is Halle Berry and maybe Jessica Alba, though I can forgive Alba because she starred in Dark Angel.
But Halle is just a horrible actress who brings down every movie she's in. She'd be a wonderful model or, I suppose, an interesting reality star, but stay away from the scripts for all that is good just stay away.

Leo technically gives decent performances but he has no spontaneity. If he ever had real charm he lost it by overstudying for his acting tests.

THIS. i was actually way more impressed with matt damon in the departed than i was with leo. he just tries too hard.
