Which actor, that you like, would you like to see finally get his/her defining role but always seems to get side-lined..?

Mine are Danny Trejo from every Rodriguez movie..ever!
Eamon Walker from 'Oz' and 'Tears of the Sun'.

Ed Norton. He's had great roles, but nothing I would say absolutely defining.
John C. McGinley because he kicks so much ass.

I would say that American History X was his defining role. I mean, sure he's versatile and can do pretty much anything, but THAT was his big break and his most well-known role. Either that or Fight Club, but that was more Brad Pitt's thunder.

Keanu Reeves.

Regardless of what people say about him or his acting abilities, the man can act and has shown that with a great director he can put on a great performance.

Stephen Dorff and Gary Oldman

Gary has been in alot of stuff, but there isn't just one thing i would point to. Has he ever headlined a movie?

I thought Neo was his defining role...

I wouldn't call it his defining role. I'm talking about a dramatic role that he'll always be remembered by, you know? He originally wasn't up for the part of Neo so while I'm sure many will disagree with me on this, I really don't consider it a defining role since it wasn't much of a stretch.

I'd say Dr. Cox is his defining role, sure it's TV, not film, but that's most likely what he'll be remembered for. That or one of the Bobs in Office Space.

I think Speed is Keanu's defining movie. Though his best movie is The Devil's Advocate.

Stephen Dorff's defining role was Deacon Frost.

I'd never want Gary Oldman to have a "defining" role, I like him much better as a chameleon like he is now.

I agree. No one could play Cox other than him. But no defining role in film. Although maybe he's not supposed to have one. Maybe he's supposed to be a great character actor like they had in the old days. Like Peter Lorre was.

Jim Caveziel also, even though the Passion was big, he seemed to fall off the map after that movie.

Danny Trejo needs to be the leading man in his own flick....The Machete :D..!
