The Dark Knight Adam West Not Excited for TDK

If only I can dig up that Bale Vs West video on MTV's celebrity death match, it would completely pawn this thread and everyone in it.

Get off of West. He actually made a damn accurate incarnation of Batman; it was just accurate to an era of comic book history most of us would like to forget ever happened. Though, that was the character West played, and it made him an icon, so why shouldn't he be fond of it? I support him fully, in fact I've always found him entertaining. He didn't trash Nolan, he just said the new direction isn't his personal favorite, and I can understand that completely.

Oh, i agree. Im gonna meet him at Dragon Con this year, and i absolutely cant WAIT! Even my 14 year old daughter is psyched to meet him.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, just like how everyone else is entitled to ignore it.

Jesus Christ. This is not that big a deal. BTW, what the hell is everybody talking about with this "Nolan is anti CG"? There was plenty of CG in Begins and there will be in TDK. And for the record, every Michael Keaton interview I've read where he's been asked Batman questions, he's shown nothing but support.

I'm a fan of Nolan's flicks, but they won't be infallible. They just won't. I'm not going in assuming it'll all be perfect, because I know it won't. Most of us on here really need to get off of Nolan's dick, because as soon as he does something off the mark that you don't like, you're going to go into cardiac arrest.

I mean seriously....who cares? He wasn't excited about Batman 89, so what's the difference?

*thumbs up*

I'm not surprised... Both he and Michael Keaton are very "meh... who cares?" when it comes to the new Batman franchise.

wait what? mike actually said he liked batman begins. he actually said that he wouldve liked to do an approach like that for one of burtons movies. so dont include mike just because of adam saying stuff out of his ass.

Yeah its for real. I saw it on MTV awhile back. However, West won though. :csad: But Bale totally owned him throughout the fight. :hehe:

Yeah I hate how celebrity deathmatch has the same fight every time. The guy winning at the start always gets ****ed at the end.

I wish it was on youtube, but alas, it is not.

:csad:

With a thread called "Adam West Not Excited for TDK" in a (A-hem) TDK forum what kind of replies did you expect? "Oh, we understand that because he's an old man and has this extremely narrow view of the character which just so happens to be the campy, lame, cheesed out version that he played we should understand"....and a legend? Ummmm......I love Batman and I was amused by the TV show but calling him a legend and saying that other Batman films wouldn't exsist without the TV show is just ridiculous. Do you really think anyone went to see Batman 89 because they were thinking of the TV show? The entire point of that film was to destroy the image of Adam West running around in tights. Batman was never meant to be camp or comedy. I say...bash away......He should be respectful of the very thing that made him what he is today. Batman made him. He did not make Batman. That would be Bob Kane....Ok rant over...

You're wrong here. The old TV show was huge in it's day. People remembered it and it why they were so intrigued when Burton came in. Comic readers always knew there was another Batman. Normal people only had the show and it's what Batmans mainstream status was built on.

howd i know you idiots would prove your complete ignorance by bashing west when he really didnt bash the nolan flicks at all...really...nitpicking because he dosent waste his time drooling over nolans every word like when he says he barely uses cgi? you guys are sad....seriously....

And i really would've liked to have seen B89 sell tickets without the existence of the tv show in the first place...you know...the tv show that MADE BATMAN AN ICON IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Damn, you people are truly idiots....i dont think i can say that enough

Hey buddy, leave me out of this. I am not guilty of any West-bashing.

I never liked the old batman shows, i always thought they were extremely stupid.... the Batman and Robin film reminded me to much of the older shows....
