Being a father I'm defenseless against these movies.

I have to make sure I'm alone when I watch them. :ninja:

My Dog Skip

this always gets me as I can relate to it as the first dog I got as a little kid passed away when I was in high school

When Forrest Gump asks if his son is smart or if he's like... :waa:

I believe I've already started a thread like this.

But I'll repost some of what I had posted before.

Movies

Independence Day When Randy Quaid asks the president to tell his kids that he loves them, just before doing the kamikaze run that saves the day.

Armageddon When Harry stays behind to set off the nuke manually, and his daughter puts her hand on the monitor as it goes blank.

Deep Impact When the astronauts each say goodbye to their families before sacrificing themselves to destroy the larger and deadlier comet.

The Wrestler When Randy The Ram spends the afternoon with his daughter and asks her not to hate him. Also his speech at the end of the film right before his big rematch with The Ayatollah.

Rocky III When Mickey dies.

Rocky IV When Apollo dies.

Best Of The Best When Team Korea gives their gold medals to Team USA.

Serenity The funeral of Wash, Book, and Mr Universe.

Television

M*A*S*H When Col Henry Blake dies. Also when Radar goes home.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer When Buffy's mom dies.

Firefly The funeral of Inara's friend (the madam of a brothel) in "Heart Of Gold", as well as the funeral scene in the episode "The Message". Also when I got news they were cancelling the show.

When optimus prime dies in the original transformers.

When Musafa dies in The Lion King.

I had misty eyes when I saw Secret Poet Society ( I was what, 14 or 16 y/o).
But I never cried over a movie, with tears dripping on my cheeks like fountain.

:csad:

Big Fish: the whole ending sequence with his dad. Too many feels.

Click: when he realizes his dad died and that he was an ******* to him.

Toy Story 3: pretty much the entire movie, damn you Pixar, damn you nostalgia!

Up!: obviously the opening scene :'(

Karate Kid/Rocky II: tears of JOY when they finally win at the end.

Neverending Story: the death of Artax, WTF, very dark scene for a kid's movie.

Warrior_Poster.jpg

From movies that I've seen seven or eight times

Warrior

Scene in the hotel room where Paddy is drunk out of his mind and yelling "Stop the ship" & a bit when the final fight reaches its climax

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

The breakdown scene, every single time

Mud

When Ellis confronts Mud about the fact that he's a liar

The Spectacular Now

A few tears when Sutter's dad tells him he left & Aimee telling Sutter she loves him, him saying that she doesn't, Sutter leaving Aimee at the bus stop and finally Sutter breaking down in his mom's arms when saying that nobody loves him

The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty (only saw it twice for now)

The reveal of the photo at the end & Walter's reaction

Man Of Steel

Tornado scene & scene right after Supes snapped Zod's neck

On The Road

The ending, Dean staying behind, Sal writing "And I think of Dean Moriarty, I think of Dean Moriarty, I think of Dean, Mo, Ri, Ar, Ty"

Her

Don't remember which scenes though, only saw it once, waiting for BR.

The Grey

The reveal that
Ottway's wife bit it along with him preparing

The Place Beyond The Pines

Multiple times but can't pinpoint scenes in particular, it's more of an overall thing.

For TV shows, on the top of my head: LOST, many times, the ending drained me.

I have much more of an emotional connection to movies than necessarily thinking in terms of pure quality (although a lot of my top movies are extremely good movies). Movies are my emotional release I'd say.

Forgot to mention that I ALMOST shed a tear during TWS when:

Peggy forgot she was talking to Steve and got emotional when seeing him "again". Very simple but powerful little moment.

Just admit it.

The Grave of the Fireflies: Such a very sad and powerful animated movie.

Haven't seen it.

Pan's Labyrinth: The ending.

YES! I teared up. Definitely one of my favorite films.

Armageddon:
Harry's sacrifice.

No. I don't cry at over-produced Michael Bay crap. :o Felt absolutely no investment in Bruce Willis' character.

The Dark Knight Rises:
Batman's sacrifice.

No.
And he didn't sacrifice himself, as revealed 5 minutes later. Nah, I like superhero movies, but they never really make me cry.

Up: the opening.

No, but it was emotional.

Toy Story 3: the ending.

A little choked up, but no actual tears.

Iron Giant:
The alien robot sacrificing himself and saying "Superrrrman".

Damn, I just spoiled myself. :csad: Haven't seen it, but I keep hearing it's great, so I need to get it.

Old Yeller: Need i say more?

Haven't seen it. I know it's one of those classics, but having lost two dogs myself (one to a car), can't watch anything dog-related.

Ghost: The end got to me when i saw this in theaters as a kid.

Choked up, maybe. It's been so long I can't remember.

ET: w
hen ET died then came back to life and the ending.

No.

The Muppets take Manhattan: Saying Goodbye scene.

No.

Frozen:
Anna freezing and everyone thought she was dead.

Definitely emotional. But it was resolved pretty quickly. Would have been ballsier if they
left her in that state.

Terminator 2:
T-800 saying goodbye and sacrificing himself making John sad, i was 10 when i saw the movie in theaters and found it touching.

No. I think the original and Kyle Reese dying is much more emotional than T2 and Ahnuld as a re-programmed robot.

The Land Before Time: Littlefoot's mom's death, made me sad when i was 7 when i saw it in theaters.

So long ago, I have no idea. I don't think so.

Bambi: Seeing this movie in theaters in it's 88 re-issue made me cry when the mom died.

Maybe a bit as a kid.

The Elephant Man: moved me as a kid when i saw it on HBO as i felt how bad that poor man was and the ending got to me.

Never seen it.

Some more…

Scar kills Mustafa and Simba cries under his paw :csad:

United 93…. do I really need to explain this one?

The Wrestler
his last match

Gladiator
when he dies in the end

The King's Speech
when he finally gives his almost perfect speech about WW2 at the end

Flight
when Denzel's character finally comes clean at the end.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
when he loses his dad

Shawshank Redemption
when Red finally gets to the beach and sees Andy

Monsieur Lazhar
when he says goodbye to his students at the end

Saving Private Ryan
with Ryan at the end in the present-day asking if his wife if he "earned" his life

Hmmn, that's about all I can think of right now, but I know there's a lot more that got to me.

Hachi: A Dog's Tale, try watching the last half without shedding a tear.

The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, ending of Lost and opening ten minutes of Up :csad:

Off the top of my head, these are the movies that make me cry, no matter how many times i watch them:
- Marley and Me (i had a dog that got sick like Marley and died one christmas morning of gastric dilatation volvulus... this movie just hits home. The scene when Marley dies just reminds me of the last time i saw my dog before they took her to the vet. She didnt come back :waa:)
- Dead Poets Society ( When Neil dies and when the kids stand up on top of their desks in the end)
- The Green Mile (the ending)
- The Notebook (the last couple of scenes)
- Terms of Endearment (When the mom tries to explain to her kids that she's gonna die and the young one screams that he hates her)
- Beaches (when Barbara Hershey`s character dies and the whole montage with the song Wind Beneath my Wings playing lol)
- Moulin Rouge! (it didnt matter that they warned me at the start of the movie Satine dies, i cry anyways when she does)
- Up (Those first minutes are just brutal)
- The Lion King (when Mufasa dies)
- Schindler's List (when Liam breaks down in the end)
- The Impossible (the ending, when they all realize just how lucky they were, oh! and also the phone call scene just kills me).
- E.T. (when ET "dies" and also when he finally goes home :csad:)
- Bambi (when the mom dies)
- Big Fish (the end sequence)
- My Girl (when
- It's a Wonderful Life (the ending)
- Out of the Furnace (the bridge scene)
- Finding Neverland (i'd say i'm a mess most of the movie, but specially towards the end lol).
- What Dreams May Come (too many to mention lol)
- Forrest Gump (when he talks to Jenny's grave, ugh)
- Beginners (when Christopher's character dies)
- Braveheart (FREEDOM!)

[ ending of Lost
Oh my god, i cant even listen to that track at this point, it reminds me of the scene and i get emotional lol. As far as tv shows go, i also get misty eyed during 24, season 8 finale and i cry my eyeballs out with ER, when doctor Green dies.

Shawshank Redemption
TDKR (Alfred admitting to the Wayne's tombstones he failed.)
