Scenes In Movies That Make You Cry

can't really think of specific scenes, but i remember crying - or at least getting teary eyed - with these films:

Toy Story 3

ET

I Am Sam

Philadelphia

Forrest Gump - just rewatched the movie right now on TBS; the scene when Forrest is talking to Jenny's grave

I Am Legend - when Will Smith kills his dog :csad:

:wow::doh: Dumbo going to see his mother while she's locked up. Her holding him in her trunk, swaying him back and forth, to the song, "Baby Mine"!

That's the one. Everything about that scene is so sad.

Forrest Gump - just rewatched the movie right now on TBS; the scene when Forrest is talking to Jenny's grave

that gets me too, Tom REALLY earned that best actor award for his part in that movie :yay:.

The Fighter when Dicky starts tearing up at the end talking about how his brother now has taken his place as the pride of Lowell.

Bale did a terrific job with that movie, he's entertaining and over the top throughout the movie but that scene really made me realise what he did with the character's arc.

Not to mention the scenes in the couch was total improv on Bale's part.

The end of Gran Torino where the kid is driving in the car with the dog.

(500) Days of Summer:

Tom and Summer at the bench in the park near the end of the film. Felt just terribly sad for Tom. :csad:

Movies:

Star Trek 2: when Spock dies

Color Purple: the ending

I didn't cry but i welled up at Toy Story 3 when they were all [BLACKOUT]going to fall into the smelter.[/BLACKOUT]

I Am Legend: when he has to [BLACKOUT]put the dog down[/BLACKOUT] :(

Neverending Story: When Atreyu's horse died.

TV:

Fresh Prince: the episode where Will meets his dad for the first time.

I think Toy Story 3 had everyone crying during the end and the junkyard scene.

Star Trek: The beginning where George Kirk sacrifices himself to save his family.

Avatar: After the home tree falls and all the Navi are freaking out and crying.

Any scene where an animal dies. Eight Below had be balling like a baby.

From TV:
Torchwood. When Toshiko dies and when Jack's grandson is sacrificed. Ianto is my favorite, and when he died I didn't cry for some reason.

Futurama: The episode about Fry's dog. I cry every time. The dog sat there and waited for him. HE WAITED FOR HIM!!!

Smallville: When Jonathan Kent dies and the funeral.

Battlestar Galactica: When the Galactica flies into the sun and Roslin dies.

The ending of Gattaca. Every goddamn time. Such a wonderful juxtaposition of imagery and music.

when venom died in spiderman 3
well... actually it was more like a "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

Toy Story 3 was the recent one. Thank God for the credit sequence. I was able to wipe the tears away. No way i was gonna come out of the theater like I was sitting there.

I pretty mch get teary eyed or cry at the end of each LOTR film.

Fellowship - I"m going to Mordor alone!"

"Of course you are. Then I'm coming with you!"

That entire sequence just gets me.

Two Towers - Sam's speech

And of course the entire last 20 minutes because it's some of the greatest things ever put on film.

Return of the King - Frodo and the teary goodbye to the Gray Havens. Then Into the West just brings even more tears.

Whats eating Gilbert Grape - When Leo and Depp make up. Tears of joy.

"Forrest Gump: When Gump sees his son for the first time and asks whether the kid is like him...you realize that he knows and is aware of his intelligence...and it's kind of heartbreaking. Throughout the movie you just kind of assume he's oblivious."

Agree with who ever wrote that aswell, scene gets me every time.

Futurama: The episode about Fry's dog. I cry every time. The dog sat there and waited for him. HE WAITED FOR HIM!!!

At least because of Bender's Big Score

The Dog ends up spending many years with Fry before he went back to the 3000s

The only times I can actually say I teared up watching Lord of the Rings was the entire ending of Fellowship (definitely the best of the series) and when Sam carries Frodo up Mount Doom. I was emotional at other parts sure, but those were especially well done.

in Batman Beyond: Return of the joker
Joker dies in front of a jokerized tim drake, and tim's manic laughter turns to crying as he falls to his knees.... batgirl holds him as batman's shadow slowly drapes over both of them

its a cartoon but that scene is mighty powerful
