Critics' reviews for TV shows are deceiving. They only watch a couple of episodes. I don't know how you can properly judge something you don't know how it ends, that isn't a finished product. They just go "yeah... it's fine for now? I guess?".

Makes sense.

The RT and Metacritic system for TV shows isn't good. Also, you would need to check certain reviews to know if they only reviewed 1 to 2 episodes or half the season or the entire thing. Then some Rt pages, dedicate separate pages of every episode but thats like for 1 out of 20 shows - but even with those separate ratings for each episode, there's only like 10 reviews.

So I tend to ignore RT ratings for Tv shows, and just read the premise online/watch trailers when finding new shows to watch.

Yeah. That is why I usually wait a lot to decide to watch an entire show. I'm done starting shows that get cancelled after one season.
They usually take a while to find their footing too. Is hard to review entire shows.

So for me episode 1 opened weird until I realized what they were doing around the time the credits for the Agatha show within the show popped up. Once that happened I started to realized that dialogue was meant to be cringe worthy and awkward as she was still stuck in a TV show after Wanda defeated her 3 years ago (wow that seems like it was shorter ago). There's plenty of eyeroll stuff and jokes that haven't quite landed for me, but it hasn't stopped me from wanting to see where the story goes.

Hope they can step it up some because as of now I'm not sure why I want to root for Agatha.

Apparently there's Funko pop leaks making the rounds on reddit that reveal the identities for Aubrey Plaza's and Joe Locke's characters. Just fyi for anyone trying to avoid spoilers.

I thought it was obvious that those were global numbers, and most outlets did specify it. Pretty sure if those were the U.S. numbers, it'd be bigger than WandaVision, which is unlikely.
Literally all the comparisons people were making were to US numbers of other shows (like, say, The Penguin), so I think it’s safe to say it wasn’t obvious enough.

I've said it before. This show should have been hyped as WandaVision Season 2 and Vision Quest as Season 3.

Apparently that number’s misleading.

Whoever posted that report

It does look fantastic, and they built extensive sets for it, so that's not the final number, whatever the case. If the budget actually is significantly smaller than their usual stuff, that's brilliant.
The lower budget explains the bottle quality of the episodes so far. Which is honestly smart for keeping the price down but also explains why the show feels the way it does.

Not surprised. It has no buzz on social media at all. It's legit like it's not out. Which is why I feel like the general vibe around it feels so positive. No one's really talking about it outside of fans. Which, good for them. But not a lot of audience.

I do wonder what the budget is. There was something on Hollywood Reporter about it being the least expensive Marvel show so far, but that would mean the budget is under 40 million, and I doubt that's even possible.
But then why compare it directly to the Penguin?

Apparently the show got a boost in viewership in the 2nd week

I was about to ask where The Penguin was. I forgot it's on HBO now instead of just a Max original. But yikes it lost out to LOTR.
