Gave it an 8. I liked it but has room for improvement.

It was alright, though really, given the premise, I wasn't expecting too much. Lot of over the top acting, forced dialogue, etc.

It's very obviously a TV show.

I do enjoy Coulson though.

Loved the pilot, but like all Whedon pilots, it had it's kinks that will almost certainly be worked out as everyone finds their footing. The pilots are almost always some of the weakest episodes of his series. But still, I'd say this was easily better than the pilots to all of his shows except for Firefly, so that's a damn good start, imo! 7.5/10.

I already like this FAR more than Arrow, so that's a bonus. Finally a comic-book superhero(-ey) show that I won't be embarrassed to have on when I have company over, lol.

It already feels like they're approaching the subject matter in completely the opposite way that Smallville and Arrow did. Those shows, at least it seemed to me, didn't take their subject matter seriously but took themselves very seriously. Well, Smallville took their subject matter seriously at first, but they definitely lost sight of that by the end. Agents of SHIELD, on the other hand, seems to be taking their subject matter deadly seriously but not taking themselves too seriously.

Only character I didn't like in this episode was Skye,I already know she'll be annoying me so bad in every episode,I want BW to show up and kick her ass!

Nicely put, and I agree.

Skye was awesome. Lots of charisma and a better way to take the "hacker"' stereotype. She delivered the lines perfectly.

I liked the themes of the episode as well, and the shot of Mike Peterson falling in front of that artwork of historic black figures was a great use of metaphor/imagery there. It sucks none of the reviewers cared enough to mention how far into the "everyman" theme they were going, and some went so far as to call the pilot "shallow". I guess maybe it was too preachy for them or something or they just can't appreciate it. And for all the complaints about them using a no-name hero/OC, it fit perfectly with the theme of the episode, which was about how an ordinary nobody deals with being in this world of gods and aliens now.

Gonna be awesome to have Marvel every week, really hope the show succeeds.

I'm hoping this show is around for the long hall, will be great to have some Marvel in my life every week that I can watch

I have to disagree there. I didn't find her believable at all, for the most part.

But then a hacker in a van, outwitting SHIELD is kind of pushing believability period.

I voted this a 7. It wasnt a great or exciting episode but like most pilots, it did help set things up by introducing the cast and laying the groundwork for whats to come. Early star for me were the characters of Grant and Melinda. The other characters didnt do much for me or were just plain annoying (talking about you Skye). Its too bad J's character was killed off bc i think he could have made for a good recurring one

It was,in a word....amusing.

Pretty much what I expected.I liked all the *wink-wink* references. Not sure if that'll get old eventually, but it gave the needed flavor to remind us this is the MCU.

The mystery surrounding Coulson was cool.I hope Cobie will eventually join up for the long haul.

Between 7 and 8,but I'll give it an 8.Didn't really blow me away, but it's early yet.....

Thought this pilot was a great place to start. It definitely fits squarely in the MCU and you can feel it as they have done a great job of maintaining the tone of the movies. I love that we are going to get these little mini-adventures that take place in between the mega-events. The cross-promotion stuff with the movies is totally awesome, I predict that we will be getting the first CA:TWS trailer with this show, in the next 3 weeks.

Cobie has done a better job than she did in Avengers IMO

No more " but um, but um, but um "

So when will they reveal the truth behind Coulson?,I'm guessing mid or season finale for that and IF there's a season 2 then we'll know the secret backgrounds on the agents in the season opener or mid season

He wasn't killed off...

Anyone else get the vibe they may be setting up to "kill: Coulson off in the season finale? I just sort of got a foreboding feeling from him, that sort of feels like Ned Stark. Like he's gathering these agents who he sees potential in, is teaching them how to be better and cultivate their full potential, and once we find out what really happened to him there's no way he can stay alive?

Is he dead?

I don't know, I feel like killing him twice would be more annoying than anything else.

Coulson hinted at the end Mike returning

I was really surprised they didn't put it with this premiere, tbh. Especially since Loeb said we should expect the first trailer in September.

Yeah, they just neutralized him with whatever Fitz and Simmons came up with last second.

It was that gun they were bickering about when they first got on the plane. I think they called it Chekhov's gun :oldrazz:
