I was really surprised they didn't put it with this premiere, tbh. Especially since Loeb said we should expect the first trailer in September.

Yeah, I had kinda pegged the pilot as the time to premier the new Cap trailer, but seems they wanted to push Thor a little bit which is understandable. I feel like we may get the Cap trailer next week.

I can't wait to find out about Coulson, the line about he can never know the truth was great. I DVR the episode and will watch it again later. So far, this and Sleep Hollow are my favorite new shows. I'm also looking forward to Once Upon A Time in Wonderland since I love Once Upon A Time. I'm not into sitcoms, cop or medical shows.

This show is bad, very bad, I was so disappointed with the premiere, OMG, trust Jeph Loab to screw this up for me like he did with the animation, I want him gone............ Hahaha just kidden LOL.

I gave the episode an 8 it's a good start, finally a Marvel show I can watch and enjoy at the same time.

Two comic book shows a week sounds awesome, in the space of two days Tuesdays and Wednesdays, that's kool man.

And my favorite is definitely Lola a shield classic.

Really enjoyed it...

What I liked:
1. The fact that this is clearly in the Marvel Universe, is picking up loose strands from the films, possibly setting up more.
2. I like that it is a weekly "hero/villain of the week" show but that there is an over-arcing story that will eventually be a huge deal.
3. Coulson.
4. Fun times, keeping in the spirit of the films.

What I didn't like:
1. Fitz Simmons...I could hardly understand a word out of Fitz's mouth.
2. I love Whedon's humor...but the problem I have is that he gives EVERYONE that sense of humor...so since we got very little character development, everyone blended together. The team could have spared a few people and I wouldn't have noticed.
3. I could have used some more diversity in the cast, even different hair colors would be nice. Several times I had to really think about who was doing what.
4. A few of the monologues were really fake sounding.

Questions:
1. So...was Skye the ONLY member of Rising Tide? Or are they still out there?
2. Were the violent bad guys (the one shooting at the end, fighting Ward in the beginning) some other group, or were they affiliated with the doctor/Hydra/AIM/whoever.

I do find it hard to believe that these lightweights know about Coulson, but Tony Stark, the man who casually impromptu hacks top military secrets at a senate hearing doesn't.

what makes you think that he doesnt' ?

By the way, that scene with the 2 nerds recreating the doctor vs Extremis victim altercation reminded me of Tony recreating the crime scene where Happy gor injured in Iron Man 3

Tony Stark has no reason to go snooping around for info on Coulson because he thinks Coulson is dead.

Besides, Stark is busy...had his house blown up etc.

The one shooting at the end got out of a car that the doctor was driving

I liked the pilot but sometimes the Whedony humor is so damn overpowering and smug but it always has been so I'm just transferring that complaint to his latest project. I just wanted to get that out of the way right off the bat.

The hacker chick's acting is shaky as hell and I'm wondering if the lead dude is another marlon blando llike Boreanez. Sorry but I never liked Boreanez like other Whedon fans, I tolarate him. He's okay at best. Gunn did a good job though and really sold the character and I really liked the dialogue at the end so props to the writers. I'm never in love with pilots but this one was pretty fun and if I'm not busy I'll catch the second episode.

I think that's what they were going for.

Gotcha...same group.

I admit that at times I was partially paying attention due to...well...my dog crapped on the couch at like 8:01 EST, I assume due to excitement over the show starting. It led to an uncomfortable hour of watching, cleaning, and explaining to my girlfriend why cleaning was not a bigger priority.

Good start to what should be a fantastic show. And kudos for bringing back Shepherd Book!

Let the speculation begin on what Coulson is, or who he is.....

....and you all thought it would be as simple as Fury using Coulson's death as a ploy to bring the Avengers together.

I really liked it. I haven't gotten to see a lot of the previews for it, and wasn't sure what to expect of the main cast, but I liked all of them in the pilot. It'd be cool seeing Mike return later in the season, maybe helping SHIELD or something. I wonder what really happened to Coulson? It'll be interesting to see what they do with that.

I can't wait to find out who or what group was behind the experiments. I'm really excited to see who they use for villains, and how they adapt them for the show. It's off to a good start for me .

I wonder if going forward they will work appearances on the show into the big stars contracts? I'm sure we may get some Thor cameos in November

Good pilot. I'm in. Hopefully this ends up being a terrific show.

This show is the strong point of a weak lineup.

I thought the first episode was boring and corny. I'll watch the second episode to see if it gets better.

I like that the show continues to reinforce the "new world order" theme that is being batted about since the Battle of New York. It really makes an alien invasion fought off by the first superhero dream team seem like a big deal with significant repercussions.

Ugh - YES! It's a problem I had with Buffy and even moreso with The Avengers. The "cutesy speak" and smug humor that's randomly inserted into serious scenes completely takes me out of the show (and movies) at times.

I wish he would tone it down but I know that's one of his trademarks people love so whatever.

I really liked it. It wasn't the best pilot I've ever seen but the show is a lot of potential.
