Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD - 3x01 - "Laws of Nature" - Discussion Thread

That is really amazing, I do hope it reflects in the amount of viewers.

Also I might have missed it but where was May?
Phil just said she was taking a break. No big answer to that

It looks like the blue area of the moon where the Watcher had a base with a breathable atmosphere.

That thought crossed my mind, but there was a planet there that didn't really seem to be Earth.

Not really lol MIGHT look like something Thanos would like tho lol

Yeah was very blue-ish. The VO for next week, the announcer said she's on the other side of the universe. Not solar system... I was originally wondering if maybe she was on Titan.

Not sure I've seen what Hala looks likes in the comics. Very rocky terrain...and Like I said blue. There was a moon and then a very large planet in the background.

Probably the most well put together episode they've had.

Love the fact that they covered so much in one episode as opposed to dragging it out so much. Mid-way through, I wasn't expecting us to get resolution on Fitz's little mission. I definitely wasn't expecting to see Gemma yet.

RH dude, you WILL love it like all the others!
I don't doubt it. I'm downloading the episode right now. Not sure if I'l watch it immediatly afterwards as it is 4 AM and I SHOULD go to bed, at least that's what my better half told me 2 hours ago.

Like Vartha Said Phil said she is taking a break but in the coming attractions they did show May so she comes back at some point.

Fitz is awesome! I hope they focus a little more on him this season, and it looks like at least for the first few episodes they may focus on his search for Simmons.

But that scene with him getting the scroll. That was awesome!

Also Iain De Caestecker having to show so much emotion, as well as showing his awkwardness as Fitz has lead me to believe he has so far had the best acting.

Loved what I caught of the episode. Was caught up dealing with some stuff so didn't pay as much attention as I normally would have. Def gonna have to give this a rewatch OnDemand this weekend

A whole lot of exposition in this episode to set up the status quo. I was hoping for more of a blockbuster, water cooler type first episode...but I guess I can cut them some slack.

However, I am not a fan of the idea of yet another rival organization. They could have just saved the Nu-SHIELD story for this season (which would have fit in better with Civil War anyway). I liked Talbot more as a leader of one of the other "we're good guys but serve as rivals" teams that this show has had.

lol Glad you stay up with us!

hmmm...can't recall 616 Bobbi Morse being into science
Dr. Barbara "Bobbi" Morse was born and raised in San Diego, California. She excelled in school and later attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in biochemistry. Upon completion of her Ph.D., she was admitted onto the Project: Gladiator team under Dr. Wilma Calvin.

Surprisingly (to me), Fitz has been the emotional core of this series. Caestecker is doing good in the role as well.

There are tweets going on about Iain deserving of an Emmy. lol....

Seriously though... he did a great job and they gave him a fantastic arch this episode.

Rofl, that is what you get when you are trying to watch the episode live and your headset needs to be replaced XD.
lol Well this year there's less noise in the Student resource center so I heard it all lol

hahaha Yeah I can see that. I'm just afraid He'll go off the deep end again

I can't say Jemma's on the moon tho, I swear I saw 2 other planets in the sky

Haha, I glad you did XD. Last season it happened to me several times that the live stream cut out and I had to wait until I could download the episode. Though I will watch it again tomorrow with my parents.

When we saw where Simmons was I instantly thought of Attilan. Though that may be unlikely, since it seemed very empty. But just the way that it looked like it was a body rotating around a planet. Thought it does seem like since this season relates to inhumans so much that it isn't that unlikely.

Another thing we should be asking: Why didn't the monolith swallow Fitz? Does it only swallow once in a while? Or was there something special about Simmons that caused it to swallow her?
