I got a similar vibe as well...but didn't Brandt die in Iron Man 3? And isn't this a different actress (not that a recasting is impossible)?

Nope, didn't die in IM3. Remember Rhodey saves him and then tells him he's gonna need his suit (they'd had him strung up in the Iron Patriot armor).

And yup... same actor (William Sadler), though no reference to this episode on IMDB, was definitely him.

When we saw where Simmons was I instantly thought of Attilan. Though that may be unlikely, since it seemed very empty. But just the way that it looked like it was a body rotating around a planet. Thought it does seem like since this season relates to inhumans so much that it isn't that unlikely.

Another thing we should be asking: Why didn't the monolith swallow Fitz? Does it only swallow once in a while? Or was there something special about Simmons that caused it to swallow her?

Definitely adds to speculation that she's an inhuman as well.

Well the way the MCU has been running, it still could be Attilan Marvel may have just moved it. Maybe closer to Jupitor where TITAN is?

Oh...I thought this was in reference to...what was it, Ellen Brandt? The Man-Thing character that had Extremis and a scar on her face. Oops.

I thought it was a great opener even against the great ender they had for S2. There were a couple things that bugged me but I'll wait a day for everyone to see the ep and probably by then they will already be pointed out.

I had my parents catch upon it around christmas last year and got them hooked, my brother is into Marvel as well so its become a family thing to watch and go to movies together. I think it is always nice if you can share that with family.

My initially reaction was blue area of the moon, then the shot of the other moon and planet came into play, so I thought Jupiter... then the announcer says across the universe... then I double check what planet Titan is a moon of.... and I see no rings on the planet.

I'm thinking Halla now.. or at least someplace else not in our solar system.

That was a fun episode. The call outs to previous movies and events were subtle and used well. Really enjoying the new costumes and look of the show. Gonna be a long week waiting for the next episode, at least it's football season.

If Jemma is on Attilan I hope she's being chased by Lockjaw. Cause that would be fun. Or if it's Hala, maybe she'll run into VinTak.

My other thought is, if she survived the Kree stone, I can't help but wonder if that Chitauri virus she contracted in season 1 helped her survive it.

So many possibilities.

Awesome first episode for season 3. I loved all the nods to the larger MCU, including President Ellis, and the mentions of all the other movies. I also love all the set up they laid down for this season. I find myself wondering if this ATCU is going to turn into SWORD or some other organization from the comics (it'll be fine if it doesn't, but cool if it does).

All in all, ecstatic that SHIELD is back. Can't wait for next week!
