it wasn't a waist, it was to show the mindset of Ultron. that killing was a second thought. and if he didn't have a use for you then he will just kill you with no thought

The thing is, he could've done that to any character. It didn't need an interesting villain from the comics who could carry a story on his own. It would've had far more impact if we got to know him first before he was killed of, dying a pointless death.

they obviously didn't consider him as important as some of you guys do. he was expendable. Most of his work and importance was completed off screen

Is this and Godzillasaurus the kind of thing that passes for arguments these days? It's not even relevant. OF COURSE they considered him expendable. Some of us disagree, that's the entire point of the discussion. Strucker is a great villain with a huge history to draw from but instead we get 5 minutes onscreen followed by an offscreen execution, all to allegedly serve a larger character who himself was handled poorly. It's pure squandered potential, something Marvels villains are sadly becoming known for.

I think Strucker was ultimately offed because he's more of an archenemy of Nick Fury than he is of Captain America. In that sense, Feige felt HYDRA's cinematic future would be better served in the hands of Baron Zemo, who IS an archenemy of Captain, but they couldn't very well introduce Zemo as HYDRA's head before Strucker himself for the sake of comic book fidelity, hence his unceremonious demise.

The villain in Civil War

One of my favorite parts of the episode (along with Bobbi's self-therapy) and I enjoyed watching the way Ward was weeding out the weak a la Garrett. The things that Ward does are pretty great from the tacos line to when he is on the boat taking out the guards and only then pulls out the gun when his feathers were ruffled.

I really am curious what Professor Randolph knows about Inhumans and what other types of portals he has experienced. Fitz took a big risk and that scene of him and Jemma reaching for each other while Daisy struggles to keep the portal in tune with that score in the background packed some great emotional punch. I'm glad they didn't drag out her being stuck on the planet and I'm sure we'll get flashbacks and insights as to what she saw and experienced during her stay. When she woke up with that shank, you just know she's become a changed person.

The stuff with Mae and her father were excellent as well. A very enjoyable episode that pretty much hit all the right marks.

Not thrilled that Hydra has been turned in into Ward and Co. Way to neuter an organization that was once more feared than the Nazis. Now its a bunch of young pretty people. Yes, how very frightening.

I hope someone comes along and makes Ward their *****.

Other than that gripe, this was another good episode. Didnt expect them to rescue Simmons so fast. I thought Fitz would get yanked back through just before Simmons could reach him. I dont mind tho. I like Simmons so I didnt want her to be gone too long.

And its always nice to see an asgardian.

I loved the rescue of Simmons. It was staged very well, and it was emotionally gripping. We're probably going to hear a lot more in the coming weeks about Simmons' experiences on that planet.

The discovery of that 19th-century machine used to handle the Kree monolith in an English castle was a cool idea, and it made for some really nice set pieces and scenery. Also, having Asgardian Professor Elliot Randolph back was a real treat.

If I remember correctly, that version of Heinrich Zemo didn't care about HYDRA at all.

I just realized that Ward's HYDRA symbol seems to be inspired by Werner Reinhardt's / Daniel Whitehall's World War II HYDRA symbol.

I agree that they need more colorful people at the head of Hydra. And I don't mean that in a "people of color". I mean people willing to wear really insane costumes with demented personal habits and tics. Horrible scars, part nonhuman body parts a bonus!

I mean, Quesada was joking about what new body parts to cut off of Coulson, for heavens sake.

EDIT: I just realized, apropos of nothing, that Fury and Coulson both have 'pirate captain' infirmities.

yes it passes as an argument. Just because you feel he was misused doesn't make it so. being a fan of something doesn't give you ownership. Weldon, Feige and Marvel were fine with how he was used, so the fact that you feel his ability to be a great villain, doesn't really mean much.
