Clint Barton/Hawkeye is the "back-up."
That is so ridiculous.
It's Squirrel Girl.

Clint Barton/Hawkeye is the "back-up."
[FONT="]Bobbi said they're not Hydra, so I think her and Mack are taking orders from Abigail Brand. When SHIELD fell, SWORD was secretly lifted. Now they're responding to alien threats on Earth, shadowing Coulson's team. Bobbi Morse is secretly an astrophysicist and doubles as an AGENT of S.W.O.R.D. SWORD is about to take all SHIELD's alien data/tech/research, now that the UN security charter is being reinstated. SWORD has jurisdiction over all alien matters under the new laws. Things must be handed over...

I was thinking that too. Hill giving the orders to Hawkeye, Morse and Mack.

Kevin G. has the other weapon acronym-based Marvel Comics organization on the mind, asking, "What about possible interaction with S.W.O.R.D.?"
Whedon: We would love this, but as of right now, it isn't possible. Even though Joss [Whedon] created S.W.O.R.D. [during his run on "Astonishing X-Men"] and spent as much time working out the acronym as he did on the entire comic.
That would make a lot of sense. We know Hawkeye's been up to something.
Clint Barton/Hawkeye is probably the "back-up." Jeremy Renner did hint that he was filming something secret for Marvel not too long ago, and around that time Clark Gregg shared an image of Hawkeye and Coulson at odds. Bobbi and Clint were together in the comic books, it makes sense to establish some kind of connection between them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This can also give some background on what Clint's been up to before Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Hawkeye seems to be working for S.H.I.E.L.D. still too, in an unofficial capacity based on him escorting people into a Quinjet in the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer... and he has the S.H.I.E.L.D. emblem on his suit.

Check his costume again; he doesn't have the Emblem on his outfit anymore.
As far as the world is concerned, SHIELD as it once was is no longer in existence.
And the Quinjet is likely one of Stark's creations, unrelated to SHIELD. The only group that Clint seems to be working with at the moment is the Avengers.
I'd find it hard to believe that Bobbi and Mack are taking orders from Hydra. In fact, Mack seemed a little disgusted when he mentioned Hyrda in this episode. They are taking orders from someone who is supposed to be a hero, maybe Maria Hill.
Good catch. If I recall, the context was something like "Maybe there's another world where we're all friends." Hinting at parallel universes? Possible connections to Scarlet Witch? Or maybe Dr. Strange?Twice Mack said 'In another world' (or something very similar)... Can't believe that's not a little nugget of a clue...
Yeah, I personally think it's Hill. Need to build some kind of tie-in for the movie, and she's one of the few people from the movie they could presumably get.
.....That was from this weeks episode![]()
This is an image from next week's episode. We're supposed to find out who Bobbi and Mack are reporting to. This looks like Jeremy Renner to me, from the back...
