Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD - S02E12 - "Who You Really are"

Why would they work for her, or for Stark? That makes no sense to me.

I thought Vin-Tak was quite interesting. The idea that he was trying to hide the existence of Inhumans from the Kree Empire was a very Mar-Vell thing to do. I kept hoping he'd say he was part of the Science Fleet, but I suppose that was sort of implied. It's nice at least to establish that not all of the Kree are evil. I mean, sure, he wanted to kill Skye, but his reasons were just. I'm going to guess Mar-Vell himself is being saved for Captain Marvel. I just hope he's not used how I suspect he'll be used in that film, which is basically the same way Abin Sur was used in Green Lantern (come to Earth, get critically injured, give his powers to Carol Danvers before he dies). Because the Inhumans could serve as a perfect excuse to bring the Kree to Earth, and I'd love to see Mar-Vell serve as an advocate for humanity. Could possibly even be an adversary to the Inhumans if he views them in a similar light to Vin-Tak. Anyway, I'm just happy they appear to be going all-in with the Kree, and I hope this isn't the last of their race we see in AoS.

WTF is Bobbi and Mack up to? I saw some one on the site that shall not be named say that they might be skrulls but I think that would be WAAAY too complicated and I don't know how you could do it without it impacting the entire MCU and theres no room for that storyline right now.

Clint Barton/Hawkeye is probably the "back-up." Jeremy Renner did hint that he was filming something secret for Marvel not too long ago, and around that time Clark Gregg shared an image of Hawkeye and Coulson at odds. Bobbi and Clint were together in the comic books, it makes sense to establish some kind of connection between them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This can also give some background on what Clint's been up to before Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Bobbi said they're not Hydra, so I think her and Mack are taking orders from Abigail Brand. When SHIELD fell, SWORD was secretly lifted. Now they're responding to alien threats on Earth, Hydra's search for alien artifacts, shadowing Coulson's team etc. Bobbi Morse is secretly an astrophysicist and doubles as an AGENT of S.W.O.R.D. They're about to take all SHIELD's alien data/tech/research, now that the UN security charter is being reinstated. SWORD has jurisdiction over all alien matters under the new laws. Things must be handed over...

They are taking orders from Hawkeye. Read my post above...

I loved the Mortal Kombat reference when May was training Skye at the beginning.

I was thinking that too. Hill giving the orders to Hawkeye, Morse and Mack.

Though why would Hill have any reason to have them all spy on the Toolbox and whatnot?

Jed Whedon interview on a competing site in January:

Kevin G. has the other weapon acronym-based Marvel Comics organization on the mind, asking, "What about possible interaction with S.W.O.R.D.?"

Whedon: We would love this, but as of right now, it isn't possible. Even though Joss [Whedon] created S.W.O.R.D. [during his run on "Astonishing X-Men"] and spent as much time working out the acronym as he did on the entire comic.

That would make a lot of sense. We know Hawkeye's been up to something.

Hawkeye seems to be working for S.H.I.E.L.D. still too, in an unofficial capacity based on him escorting people into a Quinjet in the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer... and he has the S.H.I.E.L.D. emblem on his suit.

Agree. I really do think they are secretly working for an Avenger. I'm betting it's either Stark or Hawkeye. Damn good "back up".

Mac panicked. He should have took a breath and then called in Bobbi.

This was a solid episode but what I don't get is once the Kree agent is returned to Hala why wouldn't they restore his memory? That device may have been taken away from him but the tech would be simple to them. He was dispatched for a reason anyway. It's absolutely dumb of Coulson and Sif to think this would be the end of it. Unless Sif was lying and turns the guy over to Odin (Loki) never to return home?

But doesn't Hawkeye answer to Fury, and why would Fury get them to steal back his cube when he could just ask Coulson for it.

Check his costume again; he doesn't have the Emblem on his outfit anymore.

As far as the world is concerned, SHIELD as it once was is no longer in existence.

And the Quinjet is likely one of Stark's creations, unrelated to SHIELD. The only group that Clint seems to be working with at the moment is the Avengers.

This is an image from next week's episode. We're supposed to find out who Bobbi and Mack are reporting to. This looks like Jeremy Renner to me, from the back...

I think you are right actually. I thought I remembered the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo on Clint's costume in Avengers: Age of Ultron set pictures but I checked to verify and I was wrong. My mistake.

I'm pretty sure that's from this episode, when Bobbi confronts the kree inside their base.

Twice Mack said 'In another world' (or something very similar)... Can't believe that's not a little nugget of a clue...

I'd find it hard to believe that Bobbi and Mack are taking orders from Hydra. In fact, Mack seemed a little disgusted when he mentioned Hyrda in this episode. They are taking orders from someone who is supposed to be a hero, maybe Maria Hill.

Yeah, I personally think it's Hill. Need to build some kind of tie-in for the movie, and she's one of the few people from the movie they could presumably get.

Good catch. If I recall, the context was something like "Maybe there's another world where we're all friends." Hinting at parallel universes? Possible connections to Scarlet Witch? Or maybe Dr. Strange?

Thankful that it's not another Hydra infiltrator thing. Don't need for the show to overuse that trope here.

...are not Mexicans nor any other type of Hispanic.

I guarantee everybody on that show portraying a 'Portuguese' was from latin america.

Note to Hollywood...stop lumping everybody with dark hair in the same damn category as if you can swap one group out with the other and no one will notice.

I really like kree stuff. When the kree spoke of the Inhumans as weapons, I instantly thought of the 2000 inhuman mini. In that arc the kree came back to earth and took the Inhumans into space to use as weapons. Also the truncheon looked like a small accuser hammer.
