Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD - S02E13 - "One of Us"

Well they looked too much alike.

And what's steroid guy's powers? Acne on his back? Water retention in his muscles? How is he different from some body builders?

LOL

He's got enhanced strength derived from some experimental steroids. That's why he was able to bend the asylum gate bars so easily.

But he does look like he'd have a lot of back acne.

The way the blind inhuman talked and acted towards Cal made me go back and look on the DVR. In the comics, Mr. Hyde isn't an inhuman but the result of a lab experiment, but in the series I always assumed he was an inhuman, given all his knowledge of the obelisk and the inhumans themselves. But upon review of his other episodes, he never touched the obelisk. Unfortunately, I think his time in the series is limited, given that he's been cast in the Twin Peaks reboot next year. He could continue into season 3 but season 4 (assuming there is one) looks bleak for the doctor.

Still dumbfounded like others about the woman with the razor blades in her fingers. Why not just remove them. Any surgical implant can be removed. I mean, they didn't even have a good name for her. Why not call her Epi-lady or something. :woot:

not a reboot, just season 3. remember, Cooper was always supposed to be there when the Black Lodge reopens 25 years in the future. which just happens to be next year

look at it again.. they look absolutely nothing alike. but you are right.. if it was the screamer it would've been stupid for them to fight when he could have just put her to sleep

Good episode but it did seem a tad below the last two in my overall impression of it. They better blow some serious SFX $ on the episode where they finally stop teasing us about Skye's dad and finally let him Mr. Hyde-out. If they do that then I'll say all the teasing will have been worth it. But otherwise it'll go down as a serious disappointment. Glad the Bobbi & Mack mystery will be coming to a head next week it seems with Edward James Olmos stepping in.

All in all I gave this episode an 8/10.

Yeah, some aspects of the 'supervillain team-up' were a bit weak, though I'm glad they didn't shy away from showing her slicing the guard's throat.

And I absolutely loved the martial arts skill with which Bobbi took down that big guy in the secret wing of the hospital. That had to be up there with the best fight choreography of any superhero show to date. I can see why she's a step above the rest and eventually could be an Avenger. Also nice for her to talk a little biology with Simmons as Bobbi in the comics also had a PH.D. in biology. I like little bits like that and Steve Rogers doodling in a notepad showing that if he wasn't a soldier his real calling was as an artist.

The way he talked about his past, to me, made it clear he's not an Inhuman. He talked about how he wasn't strong enough to save his wife, that he did things to get stronger, this episode he basically said those things were scientific experiments (or a formula) and that there was some volatility as a side effect.

Remember......Cal may not have been Inhuman....but his wife (Daisy/Skye/Quake's) mom was......and his interference.....aka snooping around and creating noise.....is why the Reader needed to grab him and read him his rights :fst:

So, is Skye going to get her Gauntlets soon? :awesome:

She kinda sorta did.

And I was embarrassed for Ms. Mateo. Not just the terrible razor nails but pretty much everything else about the character. Who thought this was a good idea?

Ten bucks says she was a Jeff Loeb creation.

G'day,

Which brings us to the real big question, why hasn't the Reader taken Skye? My guess- Skye's mum is alive.

Finally caught up (talk about a bad time to start a new job :funny:)

Not as good as recent episodes, but still great. Was fun to see Cal really show off his craziness, he is a lot of fun to watch and I do hope he sticks around.

SHIELD's reaction to supers, while understandable, seems very much focussed on detaining them. Which strikes me as odd given Coulson's more gentle nature. Sure it'll be explored, but they seem a bit heavy handed towards Skye in particular.

Not sold on New SHIELD. I get wholly why there would be splinter groups, but why does this one not only have the assets to send two prized agents to another group for inflitration purposes, but also remain entirely undetected? Are they just not doing anything? Don't see Hawkeye running it - he's not a company man.

Interesting how it will play out, but I hope we keep our core cast. This is the second season running we've got to halfway only to find out that some team members are working for someone else again

Maybe the 2nd half of this season is building towards Age of Ultron, just like season 1 built toward Winter Soldier?

Finally getting around to watching this ep.....Did I get this right? The bad guys' slogan is "Fight On!"? So, they're a bunch of dirty, cheating, USC Trojan fans??! Haha, that is so perfect! All they need now are mustard and ketchup spandex outfits.

I got the impression that "Fight On!" was the high school motto. The scene took place in Coulson's home town.

She needs to fire her manager. She's a well known actress. Why would they even want to cast her in such a throwaway role? When I heard she was on AoS I thought she was going to be Baroness.
Razor finger crazy lady!? When did that become a "power". lol

I think I read somewhere, or saw an interview, maybe, where it was stated that this season of the show would not be so closely tied to the movies.

Don't quote me on it, though. It would seem sensible to do, I think. Trying to tie the show to films, especially when the films air right around the end of the season, could easily hurt the show. It needs to be able to stand on its own, not just be a companion piece to the movies.

Considering AoU starts with Ultron not yet built, there's no world-building needed

Not as closely tied as The Winter Soldier is what they said. I'm still expecting it to be closer than The Dark World and (especially) Guardians. And that's fine. TWS shook up the entire universe and it would have been dumb not to follow along. This season, they get a little more breathing room.

Ah, ok, thanks. Was distracted while watching and didn't rewind. Too bad though!
