Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD - S02E16 - "AfterLife"

The largest flaw in NuShield's agenda reguarding super powered humans and aliens: If they kill/imprison/alienate them all, who do they call for help when someone like Thanos shows up. Will they overwhelm him with their "transparency".

First, they will follow procedure and put him on the index. Then they will diplomatically ask him to register himself with the agency or be put in jail. Following that they will put out a public announcement listing his powers and threat degree, while watching him destroy all civilization.

NuSHIELD is just like the old SHIELD.......
Case in point....
Secrecy and lies to infiltrate their targets
The way they tried to gun down Skye after Bobbi ordered to "Ice" her...so killing her came from the top
Things change...but still stay the same.....
This NuSHIELD will come to pass...Team Phil all day

You just knew that was their plan for Skye all along. When They were talking about sending a team to the retreat to get Skye, Bobbi said she wanted to go. She said "A familiar face wouldn't hurt. The other three all gave each other a look that spoke volumes.

Exactly!! They've got their own agenda and I think there's only a few who are privy to it. Sounds to me like they're looking to eliminate all things alien and bobby isn't aware. They want Fury's secrets so they can systematically illiminate them.

Agree... they are working towards a cleansing, not a peaceful resolution. It has been a while since I actually read the books... is there a prominent "Humans only" group in the SHIELD verse?

"-ists" tend not to think much. They have their blinders on and are focused on their "-ism" with little regard beyond that.

during all of this....wheres Billy Koenig?

All of the Koenig's are getting themselves into position, in stealth mode, and awaiting Coulson's signal, at which point they will
hijack the lliad!!!

They have implemented the Theta Protocol - they haven't been seen since .

I knew it was going to be Schrodinger's Protocol when they brought it up .A Clone Army of Koenigs is assembling .

I await the glorious moment of Gonzales having Coulson dead to rights and about to shoot him.... only to be interrupted by an army of Patton Oswalts bursting through the door and running him over.

G'day,

Who's orders was he not following exactly? They have management by committee with Cauldron one of the committee leaders. Gonzales specifically said he was not a director. So Cauldron had as much right to give orders as anyone else.

Adama not acting like a fascist and seems to have a reputation thats respected, bar the whole invading coulsons base thing which did not result in any casualties, could it be a possibility that cauldron was not following orders when he let of live rounds?

By your own logic, so does Bobbi. She is one of the five after all, is she not? And Gonzales never said he wasn't director. He said he never wanted to be director. Besides, that's not even how a committee works. There's one thing I found odd though. Cauldron gave orders for no one to approach Skye alone. That they were to send up a flare for backup. So what was that guy doing so close to her that she was able to engage him hand to hand? One thing's for sure, Bobbi yelled and Skye immediately tossed the gun down. She was unarmed when he pulled the trigger, and she didn't strike back until he fired upon her.

I think Gonzales, Cauldron & Weaver made the decision without Bobbi & Mack's input. They figured they had the majority vote so why bother debating the issue. I don't know about you, but I keep expecting Gonzales to say "Sometimes you just got to roll a hard six".

G'day,

Yeah , its not very clear but I think its Hunter and the woman in the blue is May? or Skye?

Right forgive the stupid question bit is that Hunter or Ward? No one is commenting on it so presuming its Hunter but just in case.

Agreed about Bobbi, but Mack? I don't know, he's been the one to vocalize NuSHIELD's ideology even before we knew he and Bobbi were hiding a secret, for all we know he's aware of their anti-alien stance and supports it.

Supports what? Gunning down one of his former teammates? I seriously doubt Mack would be on board with the idea of murdering Skye.

I know it sounds crazy and I DO hope I'm wildly wrong, but I can't help but remember his "No, Fitz, we're the ones that need protection from her" from episode 12, "Who You Really Are". Granted, he wasn't the only one feeling that way there, but none of the others, not even Bobbi, have been so vocally anti-Coulson and pro-nuSHIELD as Mack, hence my worry.

That's not rule by committee, it's rule by anarchy. In a committee, everyone has to follow the decision of the committee. They can't issue independent orders just because they get equal vote.

Granted, I think it's entirely possible this was a decision made without giving Bobbi a chance to vote, but it's also possible Calderon made the decision by himself. Either way would be contrary to what this new SHIELD claims to stand for, the question would be the degree of complicity.

If it was only calderon, the shield agent that made contact with sky would not have had a loaded weapon in his hand. Bobbi made it clear that they were going after another SHIELD agent "Icers only".

According to the article, the woman on Coulson's side (the blue side) is Simmons.
