No but the Avengers still are...for now. That's easily fixable.

Damn shame that Akela Amador is not an actual comic book character as none of the Black heroes I showed are Women (yes, Zoe Saldana is black but she's in green makeup).

or is she?.. We didn't think Mike was until ep 11

If she is, I can't think of anyone. It would be awesome though.

Before the first episode aired, there had been speculation ranging from Luke Cage to Rage on who JAR was playing and this was the speculation all summer.

Don Cheadle would be really cool on the show!

Also either Chris, RDJ, or Ruffalo! (they just gotta show up at some point!) I'll even settle for Scarlett or Renner.. Or both at once!

She's definitely not Misty, but there might be some obscure secondary character that we haven't even thought of and fits with what we've seen of her.

I believe we'll see Misty in Iron Fist.

If she is based on an actual Marvel character, would they make her this character?

Who's to say that this hasn't been in the plans all along? I man were talking about Marvel here, the company that has set up a years long storyline with characters. I don't think they've just been winging the show, it's all a part of the plan from the beginning.

But now that these things are starting to come to light people are jumping to "oh they knew they screwed up and now they've fixed it" scenarios. When in reality all signs point to this is how it's been planned all along.

It's still very much the same show they originally pitched; normal shield agents going against superhuman and other world threats. Nothing has changed the show is just progressing as its been planned to.

All this news is fantastic, I can't wait for the rest of this season and the multiple seasons beyond!!

Exactly, they went to ABC with a 2 season pitch, they've been telling us for some time they have a plan. Anyone who thinks they influenced the direction of this show by whining about it is delusional. The "seeds" are all there, since the beginning.

I know Echo was Ronin for a while and someone else took the mantle later. It could work

In the comics it has been Echo, Clint Barton and most recently revealed to be [BLACKOUT]Blade[/BLACKOUT]

If she is an actual comics character, perhaps she takes on the Ronin persona.

YES! They choose to slowly intro the new players and now they are choosing to shuffle and play with their entire deck of characters. I love what they have been doing lately and I was patient as they found their footing and the voices of the characters so far. The show has gotten better and I expect it to keep climbing. I can't wait to see what comes next!

I don't doubt that feedback from the audience can effect things but I'm not so sure that it can happen at the rate some would presume. The turnaround isn't that fast in television, or so I have been led to believe.

It's been said that an episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. takes 5 weeks to create, so it's a fair guess that the episodes we're hearing about now were in the early stages of production a long time ago, and the early stages of writing much before that.

I don't have a problem with Mike Peterson as Deathlok because in the comics, Deathlok was a lot of people, one of which was a woman.

Yeah and Ronin is the only Comic book character I can think of that would fit Amador.

Umm... how about you actually watch the show before deciding what's going to happen. The level of secrecy surrounding this show there's no way they're telling us everything about a new character before it airs, I'm amazed they've even let this one out of the bag at all!

:O awwhh man I'm just apprehensive for one of my childhood bargain bin favourites, whatever happens is probably better than what would have resulted from the 90s film that almost took off.

Did a quick search and found this character they could morph Akela into: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wildstreak

Yeah i know, it's a stretch, but hey at least she's got a link to Hydra.

I thought of her, but I figured since she's mostly been associated with the Fantastic Four, I think Fox has her.

If they bring Akela back, she could easily be Ronin or they can go cosmic and have her be Captain Universe for an episode.

I think we should expect lots of things they haven't told us about yet.

Around 5 weeks per ep is what I hear for a lot of prime time shows. Which does not leave a lot of room for "Whoops, the fanboys don't like it! To the writer's room!"

I certainly don't believe that Mike and Sif are developments spawned from fans grousing about the show. If anything comes from that it'll be the finale and a refocused direction in season 2.

I'm interested in the interactions between Sif and Coulson's team.

Jeph Loeb said that the plan for Mike all along was that he turns into Deathlok.

So there's what, 8 episodes left this season? I can see the last 4 really blowing us (at least me) away in all the revelations and plot lines. Of course some things won't be answers because it's planned for 2 seasons to fully complete what they've started here, but I think this season is going to be full of more greatness

The whole "it's all connected" thing means absolutely nothing if the show doesn't put an effort to not only "arc" the episodes, but to create hype and keep you invested. Breaking Bad hooked people on from the very beginning and it too had an overall plan from the very beginning.

Plus, that still doesn't excuse the show's boring characterizations and pacing. I don't care how much of a "plan" you have, there is no reason for why the pacing had to be that slow for the first half.

That is exactly the point I was making: The goal of the connections should have been to make the show compelling enough to maintain interest. Loeb claimed that the writers have been leaving "a trail of breadcrumbs," but the connections should have been apparent all along. Loeb's determination to keep the show episodic worked against it, and it's pretty clear that the network realized that from Paul Lee's remarks.

Lee owned up to the fact that AOS has been a disappointment to ABC creatively and in terms of ratings, not a total disaster but definitely not what the network expected. He made it very clear that he and other ABC execs have been actively involved in the process of shaping AOS into a format they think will be more successful than the first part of the season was. Things appear to be headed in a better direction now but it's a bit premature to declare that all the problems have been solved.

I wish he'd gone into more detail about the look of Deathlok, but very excited to see that they have included
Cybertek Systems Inc., and hopefully they keep that it is a division of Roxxon, holy crap we might get Warwolf :wow:!!!

Yep,the first season always requires some set up.I don't think any back patting is in order for the folks that whined and moaned until the show finally hit it's stride.
