Alan Wake.

I treated it like a TV show and played an episode a night. It's one of my favouritest games ever. And they got "Haunted" playin at the end of episode 2!

Just finished Alan Wake. Love it and I haven't gotten to play the DLC's yet but doesn't anyone think a sequel could center around [BLACKOUT]Alice trying to free Alan from the Dark Place. Or maybe switch between the two characters. Or maybe should I play the DLCs and find out?[/BLACKOUT]

Oh and Space Oddity! :woot:

I enjoyed it. Lots of fun, I still think Aquaman's behind it though :p

Picked up a used copy of this for 15 bucks on eBay and the USPS delivered it today.

Just started Chapter 2, am about to head out to Lover's Peak in the National Park. I hate to sound like a ***** but it's scary as hell. I hate horror games, I've owned Dead Space for two years and have only gotten halfway through it. But still I continue to buy them and play them.

This one feels very Stephen King and I'm really getting into the story. Maybe I'll actually finish it.

You're in for a treat; Alan Wake is absolutely exceptional.

^^ Yeah, I agree, man. It's really fun game, and if you like Stephen Kings books, this is right up your alley.

Gonna pick this up soon. Thanks for the opinions in here. Plan on getting it from amazon soon.

I finished this game a couple weeks ago. It's great & is definitely one of the best 360 exclusives titles. I really need to get the DLC.

I'm also really glad that there's rumors of a sequel, this is a franchise that MS needs to keep alive. Hopefully next time they won't release the same day as two bigger games though. Releasing it the same week as RDR & Mario Galaxy 2 was stuuuuupid!

Ha! I didn't know it came out same day as Red Dead. Ouch.

I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Just did the
heavy metal stage fight at the farm last night. \m/ AWESOME! \m/

Purchased FINALLY last week ... What can I say ..... LOVE it!

Very simplistic but it just sucks you in ... I already really care about Alan and the game play is very satisfying. Tricky in places but never frustrating.

I love atmospheric games and this really delivers ... Those times where Alan is standing at cliff edges watching events unfold below him or walking through the dark heading towards distant lights .... fantastic.

2011 has been the year where I have been catching up on games I didn't have time to purchase/play recently and I came into this off the back of the very enjoyable Bioshock 2 ... but Rapture is already forgotten ... Bright Falls is the place to be.

I love this game but the inconclusive ending just irked me. The add ons don't end the story either..

This game is the only reason I regret lending my 360 to my brother...

At least the second DLC kinda sets up a sequel and gives the story a bit more closure. I wasn't a fan of the main story ending, either. It kinda just...ended.

Though, it seemed to fit the rest of the story, anyway. A lot of the story had very little explanation and left a lot of questions. It was a very weird story.

I played the game up until the rock stage area, then I read up on the game online because I loved it and found out about the lackluster ending. I stopped playing, I feel like I wasted my time playing something for so long that has no real closure or payoff. I hope L.A. Noire doesn't end like that (reason why i say that is because Red Dead had a downer ending as well).

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/10/new-alan-wake-confirmed-but-its-not-alan-wake-2/

Remedy has confirmed that it's working on the next Alan Wake game -- but the "next" game is not the "Alan Wake 2" that was outed from an artist's resume. Oskari Häkkinen, head of franchise development for the Finnish developer, confirmed to Joystiq that a slice of the team is crafting "this next Wake installment," which is neither sequel nor downloadable content.

"Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that, yes, more Wake is coming!" he said. "But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake installment will not be Alan Wake 2. But neither will it be DLC." The full explanation, "when we'll actually SHOW YOU," is being saved for the official announcement later.

If it's not a sequel, then what is it? (What is it with you and confounding nebulousness, Alan?) "It's something that'll definitely give more to the Wake fans out there, but just as importantly, this installment will also give an opportunity for players who aren't familiar with the franchise to finally jump on board." Could it be an updated version of the original scary-forest sim, or an episodic continuation?

Remedy is not announcing platforms or release dates yet, but told us that "Fall 2011 is probably a good guess." Also a good guess? Nowhere near a Rockstar game.

Remedy is not announcing platforms

Why do i have the feeling that Microsoft just lost another exclusive?

No DLC, No sequel.....it´s an iphone app :p

on other news..

It's something that'll definitely give more to the Wake fans out there, but just as importantly, this installment will also give an opportunity for players who aren't familiar with the franchise to finally jump on board.
Yeah....another one lost.

[QUEEN]Another one bites the dust[/QUEEN]

But hey, look at the bright side....there is always Halo 54, Fable 20 and Forza 37

Damn it I wanted Alan Wake season 2.

Not Alan Wake not... season .. two...

DAMN IT. :cmad:

I've been watching (and really enjoying) Twin Peaks recently, and I remember developers invoking that title in interviews and such. So with those familiar with the show, how high is Alan Wake on the Twin Peaks-o-meter?

From the top of my head is that mainly both dealt with supernatural. There's a diner in the game, and it does bears resemblence to the diner in Twin Peaks, and there's a jukebox too. Coffee is collectable, and agent Cooper sure does love a damn fine cup of coffee. There's a red chairs that are scattered around the game that's simliar to the one from the Black Lodge, the lamp lady is similiar to the log lady in Twin Peaks. The Cauldron Lake is similar to the Black Lodge, Shelly comes to mind when I see Rose the waitress. It's mentioned that Sheriff Breaker is the only girl in the bookhouse, an obvious reference to the Bookhouse Boys.

The Cauldron Lake Lodge bears a resemblence to the Great Northern Lodge and also in the game it was mentioned that it was a hotel before it turning to a mental hospital. This I'm not so sure but I thought the secretary in the police station sounds like Lucy. Agent Nightingale is a obessive FBI agent, there's a FBI agent in season 2 of Twin Peaks but I don't want to spoilt but the connection is in both there's a crazy FBI agent. Hartman = Doctor Jacoby, not exactly the same but they're a bit cuckoo. The police station from both looks identical. And it's good that you're watching Twin Peaks.

Yeah, there's a lot of those little references, and it has a lot of surreality to it much like Twin Peaks. Coincidentally, they also both seemed to have been cut short before a lot of loose ends got a chance to be tied up.
