Yea, i think thats the premise but i dont think its been said if thats really whats going on. There has been talk that he's just dreaming or that he's actually dead. Id assume there is going to be a much deeper story than just the fact that the stuff he's writing is coming to life. But then again, maybe not.

Well, he could be in Purgatory or something. Plenty of stories to tell if that were the case.

Either way, I agree with ProjectPat. "The stuff he's writing comes to life" seems a bit simplistic for Lake. I mean, you could accurately describe Max Payne as "a rogue detective takes down a drug ring," but that wouldn't convey the depth of the story at all.

Alan Wake no longer slated for PC:

It was previously thought that the PC version of Alan Wake would be worked on after the release of its Xbox 360 version in May, but Microsoft has shattered hopes by confirming to Strategy Informer that Alan Wake will no longer be coming to PC.

"Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience "Alan Wake" was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform." said a Microsoft spokesperson.

In july last year Markus Maki, head of development, said that they're focusing all their efforts on the 360 version, but will be making comments in regards to the PC at a later time. Although it now looks like this is confirmed as an Xbox 360 exclusive.

Considering the amount of time that it's taken to get this far I'd say it probably really does have something to do with prioritizing for the lead system (Just not for that silly reason given). I won't be surprised to see it pop up later down the road with the 360 version is actually done and on shelves

I can give you the real reason why the game was cancelled for the PC, and i´m glad that it happend.
The 360 needs exclusives and not console only exclusives.

If not, why the hell did i bought a 360 for, if the games end on the PC (and i talk for a lot of people on this one)?

I kind of doubt that's it. Maybe if the PC was still a big market and could cut into the console market significantly, but I don't think that's really a huge issue. I still won't be all that surprised if it ends up on the PC eventually

Microsoft haven't developed a pc game since 2007.
Several PC centric studios have been closed down and as you are aware Ensembles Studios last RTS title which are best played in front of a large TV screen with a control pad, was Halo Wars for the Xbox360. Outside of token GFWL gestures it seems pretty obvious they trying to shift people over to the xbox360. Thank Christ for Valve, Stardock, Blizzard, third party e.t.c...

Yeah, I think Valve and Blizzard, at least, will prop up PC gaming pretty much forever. I love that even though Valve's branched out into console development, they still tend to behave like a PC developer first and foremost.
