Alfred Pennyworth comic?

Would it be cool to have an ongoing or a mini about Alfred's days in the armed services of the UK? I think it would.

Take a stand, Superherohype!/Batman/The Comics!

As long as there isn't some event that connects him to Batman today. Like he meets Ra's Al Ghul or something. That would be unfortunate.

A mini could show what shaped Alfreds character and specifically his willingness to serve the Wayne family so unconditionally. Face it Batman could have never happened without Alfred. He's integral to the myth so we should know his backstory and why he never stopped believing in Bruce and Batman.

There was a backup story in Detective a year or two ago which featured Alfred in the service. It was pretty cool to see. I don't know if it really needs a mini, but some more backups or a one-shot would be pretty cool.

I remember that backup. Re-reading it is what got me thinking.

I'm tired of this whole "Alfred is gay" thing. Why does everybody have to make every character gay? I have nothing against gay characters (all my best friends are gay! and black! and Islamic!) I just think it's overapplied. Alfred's straight. He gets that Leslie Thompkins puus all the time.

There's also I nice little blurp in "The Untold Legend of Batman" about Alfred saving some P.O.W.'s
He was a real badass back then.

He could even say that after Alfred beats the **** out of young Bruce and then gleefully kills some cops - that's the REAL reason Bruce Wayne becomes Batman...
