It looks like a trailer for a sequel for a film that wasn't really good but earned a lot of money at the box-office and here's the obligatory sequel just because $$$. It looks cheap and IMO it looks worse than the first one and the punchlines are cringe worthy.
Watched the trailer and thought it looked like another mediocre to bad "Johnny Depp is whacky" movie.
All I can think is that the film is going to make so much less than the first in the states.A less than stellar reception for the first film, a far less popular Johnny Depp, a 5 year gap and no brand spanking new after Avatar 3D to prop the film up. It will be lucky to crack 200mil. And oh yeah let's not forget that it's going up against X-Men.
Disney is going to lose some money on this. If they move it to March, it won't be a total loss.
Even if they did lose money, they'll be fine. Between Civil War, Rogue One, Doctor Strange, The Jungle Book and Finding Dory, they were poised to have a good 2016 even without Alice 2.
If that's the case, why didn't they do this sooner? When the iron was still hot.
If a sequel or a series of films was really intended in the FIRST place, we would have been at movie #3 or #4 by now. But familiarity $ell$, the first one made $$$ and a couple of big films from Disney unperformed since Alice in Wonderland, so here we are with the obligatory sequel.

Not everything needs to happen that way, some of the best sequels were only thought of after the first ones were successes, even though those films were one-shot stories. Aliens for example took that long because it took a while for someone to actualy want to make that film, before that, Alien was seen as a one-shot story without potential for sequels.
The first film, really wanted to like it. But walked out pretty angry.
Pretty solid cover actually.Heard some of Pink's "White Rabbit" cover for the movie. I like her, but I feel like that song would've suited a Florence Welch much better.
I have never agreed with Sawyer more. This scares me.Heard some of Pink's "White Rabbit" cover for the movie. I like her, but I feel like that song would've suited a Florence Welch much better.
Change angry to bored and that was me. I stand by what I said earlier and I'll see this provided the reviews are good. I also hate to say it, but I think Alan Rickman's recent passing might give this a boost at the box office. I feel like a major draw to this will be to see his final role.
