Just saw it on netflix. Or, rather, I tried watching it. It's horrible. It's slow, boring, ugly, has not aged well at all, and is an overall Bad Movie. And not in a fun-bad way, but a boring-bad way

Watched that the other day. Doing a literal version of the book is laudable, but it probably isn't film-able if you do it straight on.

Exactly, actually my favourite is the one they did in -76. Even though it is a... "adult" version of the story, if you cut out that stuff, it's a good and fun musical that works. At least it works better than the 72 version AND Burtons thing.

I recall seeing a cartoon version in the 1970s where Alice went through a television set instead of a looking-glass. Guess they were trying to be modern and hip!
