Sega Alien: Isolation

It's like all those games where the enemies attack you but ignore the NPC's.

New preorder dlc announced. Two missions.

1. Crew Expendable: play as Ripley, Parker or Dallas after Brett's death to flush the Alien out.
2. The second mission you play as Ripley trying to escape the Nostromo.

Al the cast except Holm are giving their voices and likenesses

Will this game really not be a letdown?

Who knows for sure until its out, but early press has been positive. If ya have any kind of reservations about it, just wait it out, see what everyone has to say about it once its out.

CG Sigourney? Uncanny valley hotness.

I wonder how much they shelled out for Weaver. I mean she wouldn't even work on the Ghostbusters video game and they got freaking Bill Murray on that.

That pre-order bonus probably pushed this into a day one purchase for me.

Well that was a slightly different situation. She turned down the offer the originally but when she found out the orig guys would be in the game she wanted in, unfortunately by that time development was too far along.

She's done interviews where she expressed interest in doing games if they were going to be handled right. She must of liked what she saw with this one.

I won't preorder alien(just not gonna get it right away) but ill preorder plenty of other things that have preorder bonuses I'm interested in(or if I just really dig the game). Iv already preordered the last of us on the playstation network and that's non refundable.

I'm VERY against pre-ordering games. It's people who pre-order that have caused this issue with the industry of exclusives and DLC rather than including this content right from the start.

Thank's a lot consumers. Way to bend over and take it.

For the most part I like the bonuses and what not you get for preordering. I like getting something for free that others who didnt preorder will have to pay for. Altho with me going digital, Ill be preordering games less and less. Unless the bonus is just too good to pass up or theres a collectors edition of a game or something like that

I say if you want to pre-order, pre-order. If you want to wait until discounted Game of the Year edition with all the bells and whistles, do that.

Of course the bonuses are a sales tactic. That's hardly news. You get what you pay for. If you want that stuff and you want to guarantee your own copy, then go for it.

9 times out of 10, the pre-order bonus isn't that great anyway. This time it seems to be pretty neat and all, but it's an exception for sure. Looking at The Evil Within, for instance, all the pre-order stuff for that is just a bunch of in-game stuff that you can probably get on your own.

We've already seen how Pre-order bonuses can go utterly wrong, with Watch Dogs. You needed a chart to keep track of all the different Pre-order editions and the bonus DLCs. That kind of behavior should not be encouraged.

Was any of that pre-order stuff actually worth anything, though?

Nope. That's why it ultimately doesn't matter too much. It's still neat to get something for preordering tho, so I'm glad the trend isn't going away. Even tho I don't do much preordering any more

The only pre-order things I hate are things that are given free later on thus negatiting the exclusivity of it and the gun packs that are under-powered to others in the game, like the Golden Gus in Borderlands 2 which were useless after playing half an hour

Why does there have to be any extra content at all? Why can't you just buy the complete game, whether you decide to buy it at launch, or a few days later? Or if you decide to buy it at retailer Y, instead retailer X?

I get Pre-order Bonuses in form of Artbooks, soundtracks, statues, etc. But game content shouldn't be kept from you, simply because you refuse to buy a game blindly, without knowing the actual quality of the end product.

Pre-order game content, just like disc locked DLC, needs to go away.

This isn't something that would have been in the core game though. This isn't about Amanda Ripley or her journey at all, this is totally side content that was clearly envisioned as DLC so I don't see at all what the problem here is, aside from the fact that it sounds actually worthwhile.

They've already announced it will be available as paid DLC after launch so if you don't want it immediately, then just wait. That's what the article is essentially advocating anyway so again, I don't see the problem.

I rarely pre-order games. There's only a few companies that I'll even consider pre-ordering from and even then only very few games. I'd only pre-order any Mortal Kombat, Fallout or Elder Scrolls game (non MMO). Any pre-order stuff from them is just a bonus but pretty much any other game I wait for the price to drop from $60 to $40 or less. Mind you almost any DLC from MK or FO is bought day 1. ES not so much due to the BS they've pulled before (****ing horse armor).
