This question has nothing to do with the coins (which I think is illegal, yet a smart marketing move :p) but does anyone know if the official site is going to expand before release of the film?

That's true...lots of outside mini-sites, etc. Thanks :)

Just a reminder....

20 Sky Divers + 1 Silver Surfer = A 'Fantastic 4' Aerial event at the "600"

From a press release

CONCORD, N.C., (May 24, 2007) – A team of 20 world-class sky divers and a world champion sky surfer will execute a spectacular aerial stunt at Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. The pre-race stunt will promote the upcoming motion picture Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and will be attended by all four of the film’s principal stars.

The one-of-a-kind event – which will be witnessed live by 180,000 racing fans as well as Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer stars Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis – will be part of the NASCAR special televised pre-race show on Fox Sports (5p.m. ET).

The stunt begins at 13,000 feet, as the 20 sky divers in flaming orange jumpsuits create a freefall formation of the numeral “4.” Then, the beloved comic book icon, the Silver Surfer, as enacted by world champion sky surfer Oliver Furrer, will surf the sky at 125 miles per hour, smoke trailing from his silver board, and break through the “4” formation.

A freefall video crew will capture all the action from this one-of-a-kind stunt. The video feed from two additional sky diving cameramen will be transmitted live on NextelVision JumboTrons at track and broadcast along with interviews with the film’s cast members, who are serving as honorary race officials. The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer cast also will be taking part in various activities around the track prior to the main event.

“This one-of-a-kind event continues the long-standing tradition of exciting pre-race entertainment for the Coca-Cola 600,” said Jerry Gappens, senior vice president of events and marketing for Lowe’s Motor Speedway. “Our fans and a worldwide television audience are in for a fantastic pre-race show.”

In Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, the first family of superheroes meets their greatest challenge yet, when the enigmatic, intergalactic harbinger of doom, the Silver Surfer, comes to Earth to prepare it for destruction. As he races around the globe wreaking havoc, Reed (Ioan Gruffudd), Sue (Jessica Alba), Johnny (Chris Evans) and Ben (Michael Chiklis) must muster all their powers to battle the forces of evil before all hope is lost.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, opening in theaters everywhere June 15, is the second installment of the live-action film series based on what fans around the globe know as “The World’s Greatest Comic Magazine. Fantastic Four, directed by Tim Story and released in the summer of 2005, had a worldwide theatrical gross of $330 million and became one of Twentieth Century Fox’s most successful DVD titles ever.

Tickets for the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway are available online at www.lowesmotorspeedway.com or via phone at: 1-800-455-FANS (3267)

Alba in Charlotte for stunt at Speedway
Jessica Alba -- ranked No. 2 on this year's "Hot 100" list by Maxim magazine -- will join her "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" co-stars at Lowe's Motor Speedway on Sunday for "a very fantastic stunt."

Alba, whose screen credits include "Sin City" and "Into the Blue," reprises her role as Susan Storm/Invisible Woman in the sequel to the 2005 action flick that grossed $155 million domestically. "Rise of the Silver Surfer" is set for release June 15.

Ioan Gruffudd (Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic), Chris Evans (Johnny Storm/Human Torch), and Michael Chiklis (Ben Grimm/The Thing) also will meet with NASCAR drivers and fans during the group's promotional appearance, which coincides with the big Coca-Cola 600 race.

The four actors will be at the track all afternoon, but they'll be involved in various events during much of the day and calling it quits about 6 p.m. Details of the stunt are being kept under tight wraps.

I didn't even understand what the hell Dodge was promoting when I saw the fantastic four 2 commercial:

"Go see Fantastic Four 2 and buy dodge vehicles because the Fantastic Four car has the Dodge symbol on it?"

At least with transformers and GM we get to see the vehicles in the commercial and movie that GM wants the american public to buy. This promotional deal that Dodge set up with Fox makes no sense if we can't see the vehicles in the commercial.

Well I understood the Dodge commercial, alot more than I understood your post....maybe they will understand it better over on the Transformer boards....:cwink:

Wasn't sure where to put this... Just file it under positive buzz.

From L.A. Weekly:

"Fox's Rise Of the Silver Surfer "came on well" via-a-vis tracking today. (Did you catch the ad inserted into NBC's Heroes big finale?) Of course, it's hard to tell what with all these mega-blockbusters surrounding it, but box office gurus are telling me that the pic looks ripe even this early for a "fantastic" June 15th opening."

Sounds good tooooooo meeeeeeeeeeeeee.....

I've seen that on these boards here before Malus probably in the box office thread. :)

20 Sky Divers + 1 Silver Surfer = A 'Fantastic 4' Aerial event at the "600"

That was quite cool! I bet it was even better live at the track. The Silver Surfer diver landed on a huge "4" logo painted on the infield. The Fox reporter interviewed Alba and Chiklis. He introduced the four leads as "Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis and his two friends." Chiklis gave a strange look and then started to laugh. Alba corrected the problem and made sure to include Ioan and Evans. They talked about the Surfer as a character, showed a cool Nascar painted for the movie and flattered Alba, talking about her #2 finish in Maxim's sexiest people. Great promo and exposure!

Unfortunately, one thing I did notice was that there weren't any FF2 TV commercials airing during the race itself. Transformers, Oceans 13, The Rat cartoon and Evan Almighty all ran ads. One Fox interlude mentioned an EXCLUSIVE FF2 TRAILER Wednesday on Fox.

Oh really? What shows are on that day?

It will probably come with the premiere of "So You Think You Can Dance?"...
God why do i gotta watch that crap then?

Damn you fox for making me watch the crap:cmad: !

See i told you i knew there'd be another trailer of some sorts.

Well I understood the Dodge commercial,

Feel free on elightening me as to what Dodge is selling by showing a Dodge insignia on the fantastic car.

alot more than I understood your post....maybe they will understand it better over on the Transformer boards....:cwink:

Well, I didn't think it was that difficult to understand it. I guess there's no point in trying to explain it because I can't make my message any clearer.

Dodge was, at that time, and with that commercial, wanting to advertise that they are the company that helped develop the fantasticar. So it was more of a commercial for the movie, not their cars. They have other commercials that do that for them.

The 7-11 promotion is about to get started. It has FF soda displays, slurpee displays and banner. I included a pic of the big gulp cup.

Houston doesn't have 7-11s.......

BUT I'll be going to Dallas in July, maybe I'll pick one up then....
